I don't. I worry about possibly breaking it and haaving to buy a new one. Besides, I rarely get angry at games.

I've definitely done it before. Can't say whether or not I'll do it again.

I do recount one episode that got me grounded from video games for the rest of the day. I was winning in Pokémon Pinball, and then I failed to catch a really rare Pokémon. I got so mad I ripped out my cartridge and chucked it across the room, knocking down a lamp, I think (nothing broke, not even the cartridge.) Yeah, sometimes I lose it with video games.

Yeah, I haven't done it in a while either. Usually, I just start mashing buttons when I get frustrated. It's a whole lot safer, and it saves money.  :P

Back when I was using a gamepad to play StepMania, all the time.

No, definitely not. I'm calm and also treat my stuff really well.

Two notes:

1) Once while playing Boktai outside, a bee landed on my arm and I reflexively hurled my GBA forward about a yard onto pure rocky barren ground. It landed screen-up so no biggy.

2) I've come closest to hurling a 360 controller out of all of them. Wireless (and no wrist strap) really helps. Plus, classic arcade games are the most infuriating of them all (sometimes a good thing!).

Not recently, but in the past, yes.

And because of that, I internally broke my green N64 controller (Mario just wouldn't jump out of the moat next to Peach's castle).

I also threw a black GCN controller. The control stick then got pretty funky until it eventually broke completely.

The frustration that led to me throwing the controller when I was using it to play StepMania (a bad idea, yes) was because of the controller itself, not because of the game. One of the buttons sticks, making it impossible to play anything on Heavy or Challenge.

I've never thrown a controller or handheld system, though I used to get really mad at Mario Party 2's Minigame coaster because the computers in the later difficulty levels weren't just letting me walk all over them. :p

I used to get mad at Mario Baseball too, but I have since learned that there are a lot of rules that go into making a baseball game. I truly thought the computer was cheating in MSB, but now that I know more about the rules, I think the computer plays somewhat fairly.

I've done it before. Most recently, I threw the controller at the system after I lost another game of the Bowser elevator game-thingy (Mario Party 7). Afterwards, I passionately checked the controller to see if it was broken.

I usually only get really frustrated when play portable stuff. I feel like I have thrown a GameCube controller before... while it was plugged in, but I'm not sure if that's a real memory. Usually if I get frustrated I just put the game down, or keep playing until I get hungry. Like Mario Hoops, I love the game, but it seemed near impossible to progress through the game on hard mode versus the Final Fantasy team, even then there's the secret "last" stage if I remember correctly.

And on that note, I haven't played the game in a while... maybe it'll be the first when I get another DS.
I'm a horrible person.

I have only once thrown a controller. It was my Sega Genesis, and I think I was playing Sonic. I can't really remember why I did it.

But now I never throw them. I take out my frustration by pounding my fist on the couch. That only happens with Burnout Revenge so far.

Throwing a controller for any reason is bad.  The closest I've come to throwing a controller is probably a tie between when I was sitting on my couch, and gently tossed the controller onto the cushion, but I was messing around with my sister then, and when I was playing a game, and dropped the controller out of shock/annoyance when I lost at the very end.  I was sitting on the floor, though, so it only dropped a few inches.

Same with me nowadays. I mash buttons a lot when I'm angry.

I also don't think that all old/arcade games are classics (only some).

Naw, I never throw the controller. If I'm frustrated, I just say a mild swear. Throwing the controller would look bad on my part and could potentially damage the controller.

Except if you were playing with this controller in which case it would come back to you if you threw it.

Back in the N64 days, I broke three N64 controllers. The red one rattles when shook, but was still fairly usable. The blue one had only half an L button. The yellow one was the worst. The stick was always tilted to the left!

Nowadays, I try to keep my anger under control. I usually just curse and button mash.

Both of mine are broken.

I usually just ... button mash.
= bad. I hate button mashers, when button mashing is not necessary. I have a sticky A button (xbox) and a sticky X button (ps2) thanks to a kid who pushes the buttons too hard. I am very protective of my property and mashing buttons ruins controllers, in my opinion. I never take out frustration on destructible objects that I own.

Button mashing in games is bad enough; button mashing for anger is worse. The rubber membrane that holds the carbon contacts will eventually wear out and give way with enough button mashing. I realize by "mash" the anger-bearers probably mean more like squeezing the controller, and that's still bad.

PS3 boomerang looks mighty uncomfortable around the area where your hands are supposed to go in order to reach the triggers and the face buttons. I would try one, though.

When frustrated with a game at this age, I usually just say, "Grrrrrrrrrrr..." and keep going, or put the controller in my lap and spend a few moments doing whatever else I'm doing. But, not so sound arrogant... but I don't get frustrated with games as often as I used to. I don't die much in games anymore. Except The Lost Levels... This sure was annoying:

Only once.  And I remember it clearly.
While playing Super Smash Brothers Melee, I was surprised to find that I had performed whatever task was necessary to unlock Luigi.  Seeing his silhouette and hearing that alarm got me extremely anxious, so I eagerly sat on the edge of my couch and prepared myself....
I believe I lasted around five seconds before dying...
Luigi's annoying moves (he flounces everywhere and acts rather dainty) provoked my frustration, and so, being the immature person I was, I stared at the screen, stood up, and chucked my controller at the seat of the couch.  Naturally, I turned off the game system with little more than a loud "GRAHHHHHHHHHH!"
After the anger quelled, though, I used logical understanding to simply try again (just beat all the target games, or something...).

I don't throw controllers, even though I often get really frustrated with my games. I think the most damage I'll do will be because of slamming my DS shut. I do that a lot when either A: I'm doing really in a game and I end up hitting the Power button instead of Up, or B: I'm just flat out doing horribly.

That's exactly what happened with my NES controllers. I took them apart to try to see what the problem was, and I saw the rubber membranes were severed. They completely detached in my attempt to re-assemble the controller.

No, I don't throw video game controllers or handhelds because of getting mad at games.  But once when I was ten I threw a GBA because I was mad at something else and it was the closest throwable thing.  It didn't break.  I have problems.

When I was younger and playing Super Mario 64, I threw the controller (a really cool one, too) against the wall because I couldn't get a star in Tick Tock Clock. It kind of broke, but it still worked fine, but eventually it fully broke (can't remember why). I don't throw things anymore, since I have pretty much no reaction to being stuck in a game.

I tend to throw controllers downward at my feet instead of at walls, since I'm an old fogey who still uses wired controllers, and throwing those will also lead to throwing the system itself (or at least yanking it). The only time I've thrown a piece of gaming hardware at a wall was when I flew into a rage after the "Wrong Side of the Tracks" mission in GTA: San Andreas[/], which caused me to throw my memory card at the wall.

I once flew into a Hulk-like rage after failing "Shout at the Devil" on Hard about ten times in a row (yes, and that's the easiest song in GH2 besides "Strutter") and hurled the guitar to the ground while screaming insults at it (after all, it HAD to be the guitar, not me). After that, the red fret button was kind of squeaky and grindy, and I could hear something rattling on the inside. Luckily, I've since replaced it.
