Okay, I have a question. Look in the video I posted, you'll see a black line that's two squares high. Should I have a HUD there like in Super Mario Bros. 3? or should I just fill it with level (making the levels two squares taller) and make the HUD on top like it is now?

So I'm going to get a rail shooter for Wii, and I can't decide between Resident Evil and House of the Dead.

-Resident Evil was made for Wii.
-I've never played it before.
-I'd like to look into REs storyline.
-I've always wanted to play a RE game.

-House of the dead is $10 cheaper.
-HOTD has two games instead of one.
-HOTD is not made for wii, only a port
-I've played HOTD2, but not HOTD3.

So which one should I get?

Well, maybe you should have made the whole "enemy test" bit a little more prominent... seems like some of the comments were pretty harsh.
I posted it cause I thought it was funny. I was expecting those comments. ^^;; It's not a tech demo by any means, so I don't take offense to it. Thank you for your concern though.

No, I'm using C++ and Gosu. Thanks for the help guys. There's more info about my game in the thread for it I just made. I'm going to go a head and lock this one cause I don't want two threads based on my game here as it might seem spammy.

I'm making a new side-scroller engine and I really need to know how SMB handles it's collision. I am currently doing it in a way that is not working at all. Also, if anyone could give me any other incite as to how SMB handles things that would be great.


I finished my Mario game. It comes with a very easy to use level editor. You can download it from here:

I'm still upset that they never released the series three and four cards. 
I heard there was a site you could get them from, but it took like an hour to get one card to scan.

Errm, even though you can't make new threads, I don't think hi-jacking an existing thread is appropriate.
It's not like I can do anything else though. I just wanna discuss this subject, and currently I can't do that any other way than this. Regardless of the topic this is pointless. Okay, thread hi-jacking time.

I searched for a topic on the Mario 3 beta levels and even asked when I joined, but no one told me, and since I can't make my own topics I need to hijack this one, sorry, but this is something I really want to discuss, and see what others think as well.


So after going through the levels I can't help but feel that none, except maybe the first one, we're made before the first level (1-1). I think they we're unfinished because no one liked the idea, there was a bug they couldn't get rid of, or the concept of the level just didn't work right. Which I guess could be considered the same as two.

For example I think the vertically scrolling cloud level might have made it in the final version if they could have kept the pipe from scrolling as well. But some level's were just odd, like the Tanuki castle place. I can't figure out why that would be there at all. Well, let me here what you have to say, or better yet, make another topic about this and move my post.

Again, sorry about the high jacking.
