What isn't?

Despite all its racism and gore and porn, ED was an invaluable reference work on the culture of the early 20th century. No kidding. It wasn't reluctant to cover, in complete graphic detail, topics any conventional media outlet wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. Sites like KnowYourMeme are nothing but corporate fluff in comparison.

No idea what made 'em decide to compare me to Chris-Chan, though

I'm truly sorry sir. He's a terrible thing to be compared to.

Agreed. For better or for worse, it was a bastion of free speech.

Speaking of Wikis, has anyone been on TVTropes? That site has lately become boring. They've been renaming every trope that isn't generic/bland like Hot For Student, Nightmare Fuel, and (Oh dear god!) all of the "Crowning Moment" tropes. One of the mods keeps going on discussion pages saying "COMPLAIN ON THE FORUMS. NOT HERE." and in general the site has become much less free than before. Seriously, it's below a shadow of its former self. The mods/admins have been huge ******bags as of late, and they also lock pages with "Too much negativity." I'm about ready to call off that site for good. I mean, if it's not gonna be fun, what's the point? Why do I need to be informed about tropes? The opinions and jokes are what make it unique, [darnit]!

1. I wouldn't bring TV Tropes up on this forum if I were you.  Certain fun-hating people won't take kindly to that.
2. I agree wholeheartedly, and was actually just discussing this on another forum about an hour ago.  The direction in which the site is headed... well, to put it bluntly, it sucks.  Between the rampant destruction of the fun trope names and the enforced, all-pervasive "BE POSITIVE OR ELSE" attitude, it's just not a nice place to be anymore.  Still, the forums are all right if you stay away from the boards pertaining to the wiki itself.

Yeah. 'Specially Fast Eddie. He deletes pretty much all negative criticism of him that he finds, then he and his fellow mods/admins laugh about it. I guess one of the biggest problems with the site now are these dumb, anal, and compulsive direction the organization of pages has taken. What's with all these subpages? What the hell is this "YMMV tropes on their own page" garbage? And with the pages themselves, what're all these "So Bad It's Horrible kinda being deleted" and "OPINIONS R BADZ" things about. Again, not Wikipedia.

Oh, and on the subject of ED, I never cared for it. I always thought it was just people ranting on and on about one subject in a vulgar manner, but then again I never actually visited because I'm not getting scarred for life from pictures that make ****** look like cookies and ice-cream.

I was once half of the mind that soldiers, or other such figures, should be exposed to the better part of ED to harden them as individuals.

I haven't been on ED for years, but it truly is sad to see it go. I checked Oh Internet on a whim since Jake told me the news, and it looks so...shamelessly inoffensive, like Know Your Meme. I guess the writing is on the wall when they removed every article dealing with racism, and they began to license meme merchandise to cover the cost of the website, and then they basically became irrelevant when /b/ was so far removed from the rest of 4chan, that the site became its personal catalog.

Most of all, I'll miss all the random articles about internet losers. It was so fun to see such shameless mocking of people with weird fetishes and dysfunctional lives. Not even CWCiki can do the same with their extensive coverage of Chris-chan.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

Man, what is this? The internet end-times? Someone draw up a list of the signs.

I heard from one of my much older friends (I used to ride a bus with high-schoolers) who likes 4chan that (1) 4chanarchive's goin' under. and I noticed myself that (2) ED's gone. (3) YT's even more rampant with good music being taken down, as well as (4) increasingly crappy music (From Baby to Friday all the way to My Jeans) staying, (5) H*R not updating, (6) TVTropes sucking, (7) gov't can take down websites in the USA, and did anyone hear about (8) that whole "running out of IP adresses" issue yet?

Wow, 8 signs. We're screwed...
