Super Mario RPG bosses. Particularly the Axem Rangers and Valentina & Dodo. Those were some of the some entertaining (and perhaps creative) bosses I've seen in a RPG.

Why is everyone saying game names instead of bosses?

Bouldergeist, maybe... Shadow Queen? Dimentio? Somebody bring back Tatanga and Wart, already!

Remember that lion from Super Mario Land that was a really lame knock-off of the original Bowser?  That tickled me at the time, that they cloned the Bowser fight.

Then there's always... Kooky Van Koopa!  He had many strong attacks.  And Birdetta is fun!  But I can't decide my favorite yet.
CURSE YOU... SOMEBODY!

I'll have to say SMW:YI had the best non-Bowser battles. Raphael the Raven , Hookbill the Koopa, Sluggy or whatver his name was, and the Biggest Boo.  Those boss battles were a delight to battle with.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

My vote is for the jar full of win that is Fawful.

His performance in Mario and Luigi: Partners was less than stellar, but the 1337 Hammer Bros. make a close second.

Um... Bowser! (kidding)

Probably either the Super-Lakitu or Tank Mole in NSMB.
Best Fortress music.

Wart was a good boss, even though his attack pattern was very close to Bowser's.. except that you had him choking down veggies to KO him.

I'd have to vote for the bosses from Yoshi's lsland (Rapheal the Raven and the Naval Pirahna particularly), for Fawful, and for the Kamella battles in Mario Galaxy.
