Author Topic: American Mario characters  (Read 2290 times)

Let's see... Someone on this board said that Daisy was originally Peach, and the American translation of Super Mario Land is where someone decided to differentiate between the two princesses.  But now Mario Tennis has Daisy as a completely separate person, and when it goes to Japan, Japanese gamers will say "Hey!  Look!  A new girl in a Mario game.  How about that!"  Something similar kinda happened when Clawgrip was put in the American SMB 2.  So what I'm wondering (I _do_ have a point, here) is if any other characters were introduced to the Mario universe begging in the States.  Anyone?
Thank you for saving us but our princess is in another castle!

Princess Toadstool isn't called "Peach" in Japan, she is "Piichi."  That MEANS "peach," but technically it's not the same name, which is what a lot of sites say.
