For people who don't know who Mario Segali is he is where they got Mario's (the plumber,of course) name. He is the landlord for Nintendo's warehouse in Japan. When Donkey Kong came out someone at Nintendo said that "Jumpman" looked similar to Mario Segali so the name stuck. Also the landlord was Italian, hence Mario is Italian. (For more info on this go to TMK's History of Mario page.

What I want to know is what Mario Segali really looks like. Also, more info about his age, etc.. Deezer, TMK staff, or anyone else know more about Mario?

This is the most uninteresting topic ever.
Nothing personal.

How could anyone know any info on Segali if he was just a simple landlord for a big company's U.S. branch?
Besides, the Super-Mario-Naming-Event happened way back in 1981!

For one thing, Trainman, Mario Segali was not in Japan, he was in the U.S.!
That's the only mistake you made...

Furthermore, it was former president for Nintendo of America, Inc. - Minoru Arakawa - who renamed "Jumpman" to Mario, based on the fact that Miyamoto's character looked a lot like their warehouse's landlord, Mario Segali, who was also an italian-born from Brooklyn!!

Actually, there are alot of books on Nintendo history. I just finished one awhile back called Game Over. It focuses on a lot of the history of Nintendo of America. It talked about Mario Segali. Unfortunately, I don't remember much on that part. I'm not sure if the book is still in print. I managed to find my copy in my town library.

It''s-a me, Wario. And I''ve come to take a bite out of Mario''s fame!!!
