It came out of nowhere in the middle of a conversation about controllers. It did not come up again.

It didn't exactly come out of nowhere; I had just linked to an image of my beatmania IIDX controller (in response to The Chef saying something about any game being playable with an SNES controller, or something like that), which used to belong to teh_yoshi.

It was still hilarious, though.

Sorry for being off-topic, but when is the best time to get on #tmk? Whenever I went on only a few people were there.
The Mario series is the best! It has every genre in video games but RTS'! It also has a plumber who does different roles, a princess, and a lot of odd creatures who don't seem to poop!

It's pretty random, but usually Fridays/Saturdays are the best times, though I've seen a lot of people in the chat on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays too.

Evenings in general have worked well for me in the past. Except last time, when I inadvertantly got involved in an RPG, and I had look like an idiot by signing off before it even started because I wasn't actually interested in doing it in the first place, and I had no idea how long it could go on even if I did.

I find that 5:00 PM EST (and later) is usually a decent time.  But how active the chat is isn't too concrete.  Just join in when you have a spare moment, and see who's online.
