« on: December 27, 2005, 11:16:00 PM »
This is the guitar topic, for all of those guitar players on the FFs! Feel free to talk about guitar, post sound files, and trade tabs here! I will post requests up here when they come.

I will also try to tab out some songs, but if they're too fast(like the PM:TTYD one), I don't have a sound effecter, so I can't hear every note.

Tab Requests:

Band/Game                                    Song
PM:TTYD                                   Start screen
George Thorogood                      Any song
Zelda: Link to the Past                Hyrule Castle theme
Sonic Adventure 2:Battle             Grind Race

I play guitar, and I've been playing for nearly two years...also, bad news for people who like to find tablature on the internet...

Alright, I've found some info on the web that tablature websites will probably be taken off the internet, and this has already happened to mxtabs. The information I required stated that the Music Industry thought that finding tabs on the internet (without buying the official booklet) is somewhat like "stealing" or downloading music without buying the cd, and decided to do away with tab sites.

Now, I have no idea if this is true or the absence of mxtabs is just a coincidence, but I'm just putting the info out there that this might be true for all of those people (like me) who like to download tablature.
Alas! I have returned. (3/22/07)

Can you give me the tabs for that? It would sound alot better(It's already good) if it was played fast! Post a link to it on here, and I will play it faster, then I will mix it with a backround I made for it. I just don't know the main rift too well... Great job, Deezer!

Also, I remixed the Mario song so it sounds better. I'll post it up later, though.

Hmm, although not guitar, I thought I'd add a bit of flava to this topic.

THis is me on the clarinet. It is all improv, I just recorded the melody, then tried to properly arrange harmonies. It is pretty awful, and I think I created some chords that were not meant to be heard by human ears.

Also, what kind of guitar do you guys have? I have a white Ibanez RG 350DX. But, some people already new that. Ibanez is my favorite company, mainly because they're so artistic yet make durable guitars at the same time. Though they have never been very good with amplifiers... I also have a Rollin Cube 60.

Awesome guitar man! Interesting, because Ibanez is the only guitar that I like to play too. I play an Ibanez GSA60. .everything on it is factory, but I do plan on "spiffing" it up a bit. I'll put a pic up whenever I actually get my guitar back (it's at my youth's worship room.) I also own a classical guitar that Ibanez made. It's like twenty three years old now. Family heirloom, I suppose. Actually I have a soundbite that I'll post up, it's me playing the classical. . .I'm not sure, did I post it here or not? I go to so many forums and waiver so much I can hardly keep track of where I say stuff unless I go and look for myself.

Indeed, I like your taste in guitars Khold.

The Underground Theme was very hard to figure out. The end goes very fast, so it will probrobly take some practice before you master it.

Unfortunately, no music store where I live carries Ibanez, I had to order mine off of the internet. It's black, and I got it when I was kinda depressed, so I wrote a poem called "Ebony Tears" and named it Ebony. lol.

I ear played a majority of my soundbite (that I don't have access to b/c I'm breaking the rules at my High School and getting on the net) but when I get home I  will upload it.

Seriously, when I turned off my popup blocker, five of them came at me at once! I was trying to fight my way through, but I ran out of mushrooms and lost a life. What do you do with someone who can't play an instrument? Give him some sticks, put him in the back and say he's a percussionist!

What do you do with someone who can't play percussion? Take one of his sticks, put him in the front and call him a conductor!

Sorry, this is off-topic from Mr. Melee, but it still has to do with music:

Has anyone ever seen Dream Theater perform on TV, DVD, etc? Because the drummer has like 50 different drums when he plays. It's wicked. He only plays about 10 of them each song, but it's still pretty cool to see some slight differences from the original rock band formation.

Cool! I've been to AC/DC, Fall-Out Boy, and Green Day concerts. All wicked.

I never have been a fan of the Fall-Out-Boy sound. I like more of the 60's and 70's stuff. I like anything from Zep to Gentle Giant. BUt I am heavily into the progressive Rock movement.

I went to ACDC, Fall-Out Boy and GD concerts, but I enjoy Ozzy, SOAD, Nirvana, (and of course LZ), more, but think about how hard those tickets would be to get...taking into consideration the late Kurt Cobain, and awfully expensive and rare tickets for the rest.

I never noticed that John Petrucci(guitarist for Dream Theater) cut his hair until the concert! :o It looks      now, though. :D

Rush had a drummer who had to revolve around on his chair to reach another million drums, symbals, etc. How do you quote? I press "insert quote" but nothing happens! (off-topic)

George Thorogood was awesome in concert! I was very fortunate to see him perform!!! :D

You're a trumpet?

I apologize for lack of response, Mr.Melee. Yes, I play trumpet, and I think I'm rather talented, if I do say so myself. Maybe I'll get something on here to listen to later... but it might be pretty boring, unless I take requests.

By the way, I feel the need to post one of my favorite band jokes:

What do you call two clarinets on fire?

Kindling for the bassoon!

No offense to you clarinet and bassoon players, I'm just poking fun.

If I give you the notes for the Mario song, will you play it?

I'll also take requests. :D

Uh... if you're talking to me, sure.

I suppose I'm the only one who knows of the trumpeter Maynard Ferguson...

I sure as heck don't know him. I do know who Dizzy Gillespie is, though.

No! Markio, I love Maynard! Birdland, Hey, Jude!, The Chesire Cat Walk, The Fox Hunt... I love him! That type of Jazz is so incredible. And the notes he hits are amazing for a trumpet player. If you like him, you need to get into some Bill Chase.

Speaking of high trumpet notes... You ought to hear this one "song" I have, titled "Why there is no Trumpet Christmas," which comes from the Tuba Christmas schpeials. I'll try to get it on here, too.

EDIT: It's too big. That's too bad, it's really great X_x

I've revived this topic. Sapph said shes would rather me post my recordings on this thread, so... yes.

Bobman37: Go to yousendit.com and post your file.

Anyway, here's my first guitar recording. It's from Sonic Adventure: Speed highway.

(This is our band. Mikau plays two instruments, so we have to mix the sound clips.)
Guitar- Tati(me)
Bass- Erick
Keyboard- Mikau
Drums- Mikau(again)

We recorded this today, actually. ^_^

I am can play the keyboard and the clarinet (I play the keyboard more, and only when I have spare time).

I wish that I had some kind of sound recorder on my computer so that I could share with all of you how good I think I am (j/k'ing that last part.. I'm not really that good).

I've played the drums for 6 years going on 7.  I also play in my church's Youth Worship band.  I'm hoping to major in music in college and become a drummer in a bigtime band.
