Click for full size (which just so conveniently happens to be 1024x768, wallpaper-sized <_<  >_>)

Here's the original drawing in case you don't remember it or didn't see it.

Now you can tell that Luigi is making something involving Super Mushrooms. Heh heh... It took a few tries to get the 3-D transform filter to look right (the floor). It adds the warped, surreal effect I wanted. I don't think anything's wrong with this one...

Yes, I like my little S4m signature.

Video Game Chat / The Epic Brawl: Mr. Melee and Me
« on: September 18, 2007, 05:11:17 PM »
He challenged me.
It will be a best two out of three series of brawls. The first will abide by my rules--no items, two stock, Final Destination. The second will go by Mr. Melee's rules. The third is where you, the Fungi Forumers, come in. Come to a consensus of rules by which our third fight will go. Winner gets a lot of glory and stuff.
I won't do this immediately. I'll want about a month to get used to Brawl, changes in physics/my characters and stuff. I'm using Yoshi first, then Ness, and if I win both times, Pichu for the third (assuming the latter two are still there, and Melee's willing to do the third fight). If I lose one I'll use whomever I used to win one. If I lose both, I'm no quitter and will use Yoshi in the third.
So, predict, decide on our third battle's conditions (remember this), and we'll see what happens in January.
Edit: I'm not voting.

Fan Creations / Eating Contest wallpaper
« on: September 06, 2007, 09:22:13 PM »
I posted this image not long ago:

I colored it in Photoshop, added a gradient background, and a neat-o filtered "S4m" signature... Shing!

I was going to use the wind filter on Yoshi to indicate Kirby's suction, but that only works horizontally. Motion blur didn't cut it either. Balls of light will have to suffice.
Despite the dimensions and the fact that it's a clear, pretty PNG and not a disgusting compressy JPEG, this is only 331 KB. Take THAT, JPEGs!

Mario Chat / Yoshi: Playable or ridable?
« on: September 02, 2007, 06:31:45 PM »
This is a pretty straightforward poll. Do you like it better when you can play as Yoshi, or when you can play as another character riding him?
While there are things you can do as Mario on Yoshi that you can't do as either... I may have to go with playing as him. I'm thinking of Super Mario 64 DS. Riding Yoshi in it just wouldn't have been as nice as playing as him.

Fan Creations / A clock that is always Wright
« on: August 28, 2007, 10:07:19 PM »
Remember that clock in the background of so many photos, that was just for show?
TAKE THAT!

It truly was only up there for show. Never did I think it could look more remarkable...
OBJECTION!
Scissors, paper, and a bit of Photoshop...
TAKE THAT!

Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth can now object to each other's statements all day, every day. Phoenix points out minutes and Edgeworth gets hours. That looked crammed enough, so I didn't do anything with the seconds hand.
HOLD IT!

These lines... I guess the printer just couldn't handle the power...? The "OBJECTION!" is a bit off-center, also... oh well.

Fan Creations / Super Mario Soviet Russia

Another Photoshopped drawing.

Mario doesn't have huge pupils... it's just hard to tell where the pupil becomes the... iris?
In case you don't already know, Soviet Russia is backwards. See, in America/Europe or wherever you are, you verb nouns. In Soviet Russia, noun verbs YOU!! this applies to everything--cars, Twinkies, computers... Oh man. In Soviet Russia, computer crashes YOU!! Likewise, in Soviet Russia, Yoshi rides YOU!!

The fork. Four fierce spears with which you can viciously stab your food, rendering it helpless. However, every once in a while, a pea or a noodle may escape the fork's power-hungry grasp. Is the fork right for you?

The spoon. Like a cupped hand, this gentle tool will aid you in scooping up soup too hot to touch, ice cream too frigid for your delicate fingers. But it's better to be feared than loved, and spaghetti is a common rebel of the spoon. Are you a friend to spoons?

The butter knife. Somewhere along the time line it was said that food ought to taste good, and enhancements to food were born. Butter, mayonnaise, peanut butter and others depend on this reliable utensil to carry out that duty. Although, the butter knife loses its purpose after it has made your food delicious. Is livening up your meal too much a hassle?

The steak knife. We've all been there--when you've a slab of meat too tough for your dull teeth to handle, the knife comes to the rescue. dividing the main course to little bits, this dangerous item will make your dinner much more convenient. Or, are you one of those wild people who tears their steak to pieces with their bare hands?

The chopsticks. Just throwing it out there. Say, how many of us know how to use a pair of chopsticks? I know how to hold them and use them, but I don't get far with them... but they're cool.

Don't request anything else, like spatulas or soup ladles. This is a poll about silverware used after you've got your plate.

My vote will have to go to the spoon. I could live without spaghetti, maybe.

Fan Creations / Mario Paint
« on: July 12, 2007, 05:24:45 AM »
Ah, Mario Paint. That old 16-bit door to your own personal world of 16-bit creativity. You've gotta have something you didn't want to erase still in your cartridge... if not, this topic is mesmerizing you, isn't it... go draw something... make an animation... compose a little ditty... This topic is where you can brag about your Mario Paint creations. But please, no MS Paint... Mario Paint only. It can be from your SNES and TV, or emulated (clarity is nice, and TVs and digital cameras don't deliver it well... darn you, Suffix!!). I'll be using a ROM and ZSNES for clarity, and because my SNES mouse doesn't work...

Here's a little something I made to both start off the topic and encourage the creation of music as well as pictures and animations. There were two reasons I had to use non-Mario Paint programs to put this all together: putting it all together (it's a touch too long), and raising the pitch of the highest note (no flats or sharps in MPai). Airplane guitars and mushroom drums, yes!

Video Game Chat / Favorite Starter Pokémon
« on: June 28, 2007, 04:16:17 PM »
It's not a complicated question. Of all the starters in the primary series of Pokémon games, which do you like most? Which would you pick if all of them were on the table at the start of the game? Assume that you can't evolve the Pikachu, like it was in Yellow Version.
I will have to go with Cyndaquil. Fire types are usually my choice (except in the case of Diamond and Pearl, for I really don't like monkeys that much... I didn't play much of Diamond anyway) and Typlosion is good. It was close, and maybe I chose wrong... perhaps some of the new moves Charizard could learn make it the better one (I need Fire Red!!!)...
And, let's keep the Mudkip stuff at a minimum...

Quote from: Jones Soda label
Did you notice there are no quotes under the black caps? That's cuz we've replaced them with letters. Collect the letters that spell JONES and you could win a chance at $25K, a plasma TV, and a ton of great Nintendo prizes! So brush up on your spelling, grab your lucky socks, and win the little guy!
Nintendo stuff! I like Jones Soda, so I'll try. I got an O.

General Chat / Prank Phone Calls
« on: July 27, 2006, 02:47:46 AM »
Have you ever prank called someone? Has anyone ever prank called you? If neither has happened, what would you say in a prank call and what would you say in response to a prank call?
Once I prank called my parents, pretending to try to sell them a bathtub. And once I prank called a friend warning them about excess idiocy causing his house to explode. I've never been prank called, but if I got the classic "Is your refrigerator running?" I'd say something like "Yeah, I called for help catching it like, four days ago." Or "Yes, and my gun is missing! You'd better lock your doors!!" Or quite possibly even "Yes, he's quite far ahead in the polls," if it were around election time. Or, if a telemarketer called and asked for my mom, I'd fake an extremely deep, masculine voice and say "Yes, this is she," and play along until about 5 minutes later, then say "Nope, not interested." It's too bad caller ID kills the fun.

General Chat / TMK License Plates
« on: July 24, 2006, 02:25:12 AM »
If you were to have a TMK-related license plate, what would it say? Mine would say "WRSDZZR" or "OHDUKAR." Fortunately, I found a generator for anyone who wanted a little preview of their plate.

Which sandwich bread type do you prefer? I personally prefer wheat, with lots of grains and stuff because white just tastes too plain and boring.

« on: July 02, 2006, 12:31:25 AM »
You know you're bad at Mario games when...
- You get 8th in a 50cc MK:DD!! grand prix.
- You got a game over in NSMB, unintentionally.
- You not only can't find Luigi in SM64, but you also can't find him in SM64DS!!!
- You lose a life on SMB3's map screen.
- You get a game over in Mario Paint.
- Bowser beats you at the beginning of M&L:SS

General Chat / Pros and Cons of Having a Clone
« on: May 20, 2006, 11:17:58 PM »
First off, I DON'T want this to turn into an argument about whether or not it's ethical to use science this way. I personally don't know what side I'm on with cloning. This is about what you would do if you had a clone, an exact copy of you. I think it'd be more fun than a problem.

Pros:
You'd always have a person to play a game with.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! would go VERY smoothly.
Someone would always be there for you to talk to, even though it's talking to yourself.
You wouldn't be able to get on each other's nerves, since you know what you like and dislike.
Think about it, you could share drinks and toothbrushes... technically, even without a clone you're sharing it with the you of two minutes ago/yesterday.
Card games would be possible to fairly play since the cards are drawn at random.
You'd have half the chores and split the homework (heads odds, tails evens.)
You wouldn't fight over music or TV since you have the same interests.
You could sit by yourself on the bus to keep the freaks away from you.

Cons:
Single-player video games. You COULD take turns, like "You be on the Fungi Forums while I play, we'll switch in an hour..."
Multiplayer games would depend on items to determine who wins.
Going somewhere? "Shotgun!"
You'd always have to have a coin to flip for decisions since rock-paper-scissors would never work.
Any contest would result in a tie. Staring contest, hold your breath, art contest, running (considering that the track is the same), anything.
Since you'd think the same way, you couldn't April Fool yourself.

What kinds of things woul you and you do?
