I was always better at the racing portion of
TrackMania than the building. Maybe I'll try my hand at making some tracks once I have my new computer and purchase
TrackMania²: Canyon.
For anyone here who hasn't played it,
TrackMania is a series of ruthless time-trial-based racing games. I highly recommend them to anyone here who enjoys a good and
totally fair challenge, especially since
TrackMania Nations Forever is free on Steam and has very low system requirements.
Some of you may remember
TrackMania mentioned here a couple years back, when series developer Nadeo was purchased by UbiSoft. Many people (including, here, myself) were worried it would be ruined by UbiSoft's meddling (remember that this was back when they were releasing things like
Imagine Party Babiez). Well,
TrackMania²: Canyon came out last year, and couldn't have been further from what people were expecting - PC-exclusive, no draconian DRM, great graphics with incredibly low system requirements, insane moddability, and a low price tag of $25, with the same fun of previous
TrackMania games. On the modding note in particular, here's a video of some of the player-created stuff in the game:
