I'm wondering if other people made the same stupid mistake as me. With the first Mario game you ever played (That's a platformer) how many of you died on the first goomba by running strait into it like a moron? I did, on Super Mario Bros. for the NES, ah... brings back memories... ("Hey! What just happened? Did I lose?  Ohhhhhh.... you're not SUPPOSED to touch them. I get it now...)

Quiz: Why did you just read the above post?
a)You were bored.
b)You were stupid.
c)You were curious.
d)All of the above.

Think about it.

I can't remember that far back in my life, but I would imagine so since I was so young backthen.

No, I always just ran into them by accident.

Me too, I examined my older brother playing the game before playing it myself. I was fully aware that I should attack from above and not in a banzai charge.

But on and on the Eggman went.

Ironically, a banzai charge is easier than jumping on them in Super Mario 64.

It would be more pitiful if you died by the first Goomba in SM64.

True. A goomba has only touched me like... 5-6 times in SM64

At least, in Super Mario 64, you don't just die instantly...
