You post a sort of mini-story centering around your chosen character, and continue with the story from there. Yes, I know I quoted it almost word-for-word from the first post, but I updated it just before this.

Darn darn darn!!!!! I had a brilliant story ready for posting, and I pressed some kinda stupid button on my computer, and it deleated it!

Okay, the story went like this: Peppy is practicing his lines for the game, like "Do a barrel roll!" And then Falco comes in with steam coming out of his head because Peppy's being real loud about it. Peppy's butt is saved when Falco is called down for briefing, or whatever. Peppy then reflects on his life when James McCloud and Pigma were still his friends. He crys, whatever.......then he goes below deck to get a mission briefing, he suits up, looks at Fox and puts thumbs up.

Trust me, it was way better then this. Has this ever happened to you guys?
