IGN has revealled lately that Nintendo Co., Ltd. has made several new registrations of mysterious trademarks again...



And this time, these registrations are more mysterious than the ones made before...

In fact, one of these registrations is Super Mario-themed, and you'll be very much surprised to know it how-themed-in-what-sense!!

I know it is way too early for such a topic since Paper Mario 2 will be coming out in October...

But I'd like to take this oppertunity to see what you people think about if Nintendo ever plans to release a fifth Super Mario RPG game...



I mean, who here believes that Square-Enix will develop the fifth game? Afterall, they are back with Nintendo and they are supporting the Nintendo DS all the way!!



What do you think will be in this game?



Which character do you believe will return?



Do want Bowser to be the main villain, or someone else?



On which system should this game appear? Afterall, there is one game on each of some of the late Nintendo systems...

General Chat / Welcome 'Sedna': The Tenth Planet!!

In our astronomical history books, we learn that in February 18th, 1930, a planet we now know as Pluto was discovered by an American called Clyde W. Tombaugh. Ever since then, it was known as "the farthest celestial body in our Solar System."



Not anymore it is!!



Now, on the 15th of March 2004, NASA announced that there is a TENTH PLANET in our Solar System!! Actually, they have been suspecting this thing for quite a while now, and they have not confirmed that it is a planet yet (in fact, Pluto is not a planet either). All they know that they found by what is now rated as "the farthest celestial body in our Solar System."

They code-named this body 2003 VB12, but they unofficially named it Sedna, after the Inuit goddess...



By far, they know that Sedna is around 90 AU* away, and it is three-quarters the size of Pluto!!

This girl thinks she finished making her disguise. She made this to get Mario on her back. Once that happens, she'll really give him a 'ride'!



We're just being in a humourous mood here...

Mario Chat / 'Super Mario 64' + Excess Paintings = Suspicion!

For those of you who played Super Mario 64, you may have noticed that there are duplicates of some paintings on the first floor that you can find on the ground floor of Peach's castle, as well as some extras, like the paintings of the sun & sky...



Lately, I was thinking...



I remembered that the game was the Nintendo 64's flag title, and that it was a 'hurried' game because Nintendo didn't want to delay the release of the Nintendo 64 any further...

Because of their hurry, Nintendo left out many graphical and narrative elements out of the game, despite the fact that Super Mario 64 was a great success.

One of the most popular left out elements was Luigi...

However, in this thread, I'm not interested in Luigi...

But this thread actually concerns the excess 'useless' paintings you find the game...



I may be wrong but do you think Nintendo had planned to make more levels in the game and left them out, leaving the empty spaces with duplicates and extras as some part of the decoration? That means Nintendo probably planned earlier that there should have been a total of 200 stars rather than 120!!



What do you think of my theory?

So we all know that Mario is an adult...
But have you ever wondered how old is he specifically? Because you know that adulthood spans at a very long range of years...
It is quite hard to tell if he's in his twenties or thirties...
But not just Mario, what about the other Super Mario characters?
Have you ever wondered how old Peach is? Have you ever wondered how old Wario is? Have you ever wondered how long does it take a Toad or a Yoshi to reach adulthood? Have you ever wondered how long did it take Bowser to grow as big he is looks now?

Let's discuss this issue, shall we?

Do any of you people believe that a Super Mario game would fit on the Nintendo DS?

I mean that could Nintendo do a Super Mario game for their new console?

If you think so, explian how...
How would two screens help in any sort of Super Mario game?

I think another Super Mario RPG is fit for the Nintendo DS...
On one screen, you'd be playing the game, and the next screen is for status of your battles, characters and ennemies...

What's your ideas?

No wait! Better yet, we need a globe!



Do any of you think there could be a way to make a map of the Mushroom Kingdom at least, if not the 'Mushroom Dimension' or the 'Mushroom World'?

I don't think the map in Paper Mario was enough, we need to know the positions of every town, every island, every direction of the other kingdoms, the longitudes, the latitudes: The lands from Super Mario Bro.s, Super Mario Bro.s 3, and Paper Mario, the entrance to the Sub-con, Dinosaur Land, Sarasaland, Isle Delphino, all of Peach's castles, all of Bowser's castles, all of the Mario Brothers' houses, Mario's island and castle, Luigi's mansion, need I go on!?



It seems difficult, but not impossible!



Someone out there, somewhere, should know if he or she could make a map of whole world existant in the Super Mario Universe.

Oh no! If we later clarify that Donkey Kong is now a true piece of the Super Mario Universe, then we should count all the lands existant in the Donkey Kong Universe!



What is my point here?

Mario Chat / Yoshi and the Yoshi-theme: Abused!?

Ever since Shigefumi Hino created Yoshi for his first appearance in Super Mario World, this has altered the original Super Mario Universe --- forever!



Today, Hino's dino character has became famous and is known widely! In fact, many websites were created in honour of Yoshi and his other yoshi friends! Sites like:

-Yoshi Art

-Yoshi's Melon Patch

...and if you search a bit harder, you'd find more!!



Unfortunately, although it is 'officially' stated that the character is more appealling to little ones, it seems some grown-up people has taken Hino's 'Yoshi-theme' and turned it into something that appealls to their own taste. This act is not illegal, but if you take a look into sites like Luna's Sanctuary, Corra-ki, Vappy.net, Yoshi6400's Web Zone, and... uh... *ahem*

(Y'know what? I won't even say the name of the last site, because it has artwork full of explicit adult/Yoshi themed pics, some are even pornographic!!)

If you look at the artwork of their 'original' characters properly, you'd find yoshis with anatomical structures much different than Hino's original design, as well as crossing species with those yoshis and hybridity! Beware of the adult themed pics!!



So what is my point here?



Do you think, as a Super Mario based fan, that Yoshi and Hino's 'Yoshi-theme' are being abused just way too much!?

I've always wondered, but never asked...



What are those bizzare egg-shaped jewels (in which each one had a question mark on them like the Item Blocks) which appear for the taking after you defeat each fortress in Super Mario Bro.s 3!?

There was also at least one in the sunken Koopa Airship in Super Mario World.

Mario Chat / Beyond Shiggy-san...

Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto has presented us the most finest of Nintendo games ever!
If it wasn't for him, there would have been no Donkey Kong, Super Mario, the Legend of Zelda or any other game he created over the years!! If it wasn't for him, not even the Mushroom Kingdom website was here!!

However, despite all his creations, we always forget that Miyamoto is still only human...
Which means that he will not live forever!!
And if his future grave does not get him first (don't get me wrong, I wish for Mr. Miyamoto a long, prosperous life), his ageing and retirement will!!

Most of us here are most likely to stick around after he's long gone (you never know, you even might die in someway before the next Nintendo console gets released, and let's hope that does not happen)...

Aaaaaaanyway, enough of gloom and doom, let me get straight to the point:
How will the Super Mario series ever continue the same way it is now after Miyamoto's passing?
