I've got a big problem with one of my games, Super Smash Bros N64.  And it's all thanks to that infrenal Game Shark device.  Here's what happens: whenever I try to play 1P Adventure mode I ALWAYS have to play as Mario, no matter who I choose.  I tried some other codes to fix this but nothing helped.  And Nintendo thought I was just confused and didn't know how to choose characters!  Ugh!  Can anybody help me?  Is there a codemaster in the house?

Yeah, I should have known better.  Now I never use it anymore and it just collects dust while I play GC.  Huh?  Oh, no!  I think I am going to the dark side!  Can't resist... too strong... grrr... ahh!!!  *transforms into dark-robed man with a deep breathing sound*  Join me, mario fan 7.  Buy a gameshark.  Together we shall destroy every nintendo system in the world!

Good idea, but I doubt that would work.  I already tried erasing the secret character info and that didn't work.  Ah, why not.  I'll try it sometime.  But I don't think it will help any.

I DO have SSBM and I love it! (sorry I'm posting here so late)  It's just that I wanted to fix the old one so I could play it again some time if I wanted to.  And FYI I'm not a cheater!!  I already beat all of the Mario games I own (and a few others) and just wanted to do try out some gnarly tricks so I wouldn't get bored with them.  I'll cheat at my games after I completely finish them. :)

Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!  This is so awesome!  MegaB, I took your advice and cleared all the data like you said and... it worked!  I font believe it!  I beat Classic with Yoshi and Kirby and it felt so great!  Even though I lost all my data it was definitely worth it.  I don't know how I never thought to erase everything but I'm glad you asked me to.  As Rowdy Roddy Piper would say, "You guys is great!!!"  Mushroom sodas and kerokero colas for everyone on me!

ah...the funness of being Master Hand in a free-for-all...

I love GameShark.

But I recommend Pro Action Replay, theres no dataloss associated with it.
