Too over-dramatic.

Chup just went over the fact that not all anime are of the same "genre" and that there are many different ones. A lot of anime shows (and I seriously mean A LOT, I'd think only about 20-30% of the anime created in Japan actually gets licensed in the U.S. to be dubbed) that don't get dubbed here don't have that "over-dramatic"ness that you seem to think they have. Some (lots, actually) aren't dramatic. Many genres of anime exist, it is a very vast genre (which I hesitate to call anime) with many sub-genres.

Ma'am to be more precise, since I'm a female. :)

My apologies. :P

I.E. the cream of the mutilated, butchered shows. Seriously, people (even a lot of "anime fans") don't understand that the term "anime" is incredibly broad. Think of it like we use the term "cartoons". In essence, it's like saying all cartoon shows are the same thing. Of course, everyone knows that isn't true. So why would it be true for another country's output of animation?
Also, there's nothing wrong with a show being "dramatic" (in some cases, I'd say there's nothing wrong with being overdramatic either). It's just usually the result of bad directing or bad voice acting on the part of the English dub team. There are some shows with beautiful English dubs.

Regarding Vid's comment, I'd say 20% is a high estimate. There's tons of anime that never makes it to America.
That was a joke.

You havn't heard of Bo-BoBo Bo-BoBoBo? It's the most random/funny thing ever.
I remember seeing an episode where the main character (Bo-BoBo Bo-BoBoBo) walks into a evil castle and there's a beach party inside.

Ha, that sounds like a novelty song.

Bo Bo Bo, b-b-b-b-b-b bo bo bo, bobobo, b-b-b-b-b-bobobo...

Yeah I know, my song is a terrible, uninspired piece of crap.

What I like a bout the US dub of Bo-BoBo is that sometimes it makes fun of the fact that it's a translation of a Japanese show. But Lizard Dude said that the Japan one was better.

It is because of that that I am starting to decline from using the term "anime" to refer to Japanese cartoons, seeing is how it's basically a slang term. In fact, "anime" is really the word that the Japanese use to refer to anything animated. Same thing goes for "manga" (which is for comics) and "mecha" (which is for anything mechanical).

I.E. Poket Monsters, Dragon Ball Z&GT Naruto.

Uhhhhhh..........

Mabey if you watched the Japan version, you'd understand. Naruto and dubbed Naruto are so different it's not even funny.

Why is it your opinion? That's the worst way to back up what you say.

No, I think there are plenty of anime characters that are heterosexual. Using "gay" to explain something really makes you look stupid.
