The goal is that someone gives you a plot like:

Two Goombas surrond you. There is a Koopa Shell and no place to run. What do you do?

Then you might say:

Throw the Koopa Shell at both of them.

So I'll start:

A Blue Shell is headed your way. What can you do to not get hit by it?

Fall in 2nd place ASAP and keep proper distance from the new #1 so you don't get caught in the blast radius when he/she gets hit. Also don't drop to far back so you can take as good a lead as you can when the shell hits.

At first, It seemed to me like a "Try Escaping this One, Mcgyver" Rip-off, only it's more pointless.
