Mario Chat / Re: Best in series? WEEK 2: Final Boss Battles
« on: February 08, 2008, 06:42:38 PM »
The results!

BEST FINAL BOSS BATTLE:
Super Mario RPG (3)
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (3)
Super Mario 64 (2)
Mario and Luigi: Super Star Saga (1)
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (2)
Super Mario Galaxy (2)
Paper Mario (1)

Wow, by far the most popular results yet. Super Mario RPG and PM2 are tied. If anyone would who has not voted yet would like to come forward for a choice of either SMRPG or PM2, we can finish this. For now, they will be both tied.

WEEK 1(Best Attacks): Mario and Luigi: Super Star Saga
WEEK 2(Best Final Boss Battle): Super Mario RPG/Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

PM2 because when you see all of the people you meant, the places you visit, and just the whole game rewind itself in your will, it's really heart-lifting.

This game is so great. It's on my list of my favorite games of all time. It's so awesome, that it challenges even the likes of games like New Super Mario Bros. Why? Well, there are a few reasons. My first reason is that the levels are so diverse...it's amazing that there are like 30 levels, and each one looks almost totally different. My next reason is the music. Seriously, this this like one of my favorite Mario soundtracks...ever. It's just so uh...nice. So what do you think of this game?

That's exactly what I'm trying to do.
\

Not to fuel the fire or anything, but can you guys stop fighting and start discussing my topic. I'm so annoyed that every single topic I make on every type of forum has SOME type of spamming in it.

I had it for GBA. It was a great game, however, I unfortunately lost it.

How many times did you die?
Twice.

-You make a forum topic entitled "You know when you've played too much Super Smash Bros. when...".

You make a post in the thread about the thread itself.

I was never really one that liked the coin feature. It was kinda flawed though...but if they re-use it, they should at least tweak it a bit.

Remember that this was back when there were enough characters for a grand prix, and no more. So it's either kick out a character in favor of another (which would most likely have resulted in Waluigi replacing Donkey Kong) or keep going with the eight from Mario Kart 64.

No one's mentioned that Super Circuit was the last Mario Kart with tolerable blue shells... After MK:SC it really became luck-based and now you only get items that are any good if you're in fourth-eighth place...

What's the point of the new winged blue shell anyway? You're in eighth, hitting the dude in first is just going to make it easier for the player in second place. So you will still get eighth and not be celebrating, whoever was in second will be kind of happy (unless the player in first was smart and caught them in the explosion as well), and whoever was in first will be infuriated to get fifth instead. The old blue shells hit everybody, actually benefiting the player in eighth.

To prove that, I will tell of that time I got a Star in second.

Wow, 2 pages and someone has yet to realize that the name of the course is not "Peach Raceway", or "Peach Circuit", but rather it's actually "Royal Raceway"

Hmm, do you think you can make a page with all of those changes on the site? I really have no idea. Oh and, by remake, I was referring to SM64DS.

Well, I'm kind of used to the remakes of the NES versions, because when I started liking video games, those just came out for GBA. The first one I got was SMA2. And, ironically, I actually played the SNES version at my neighbor's house before I got it for GBA. And let me tell you - they're exactly the same beside for Luigi. (Now I actually own an SNES, and I have that too). Anyway, so that one is a tie. For SMA, which I got after, I didn't play the original until it came out for the Wii. Anyway, I like the remake better because the original feels kind of plain. So the remake wins for that. Then I got SMA3 (Yoshi's Island right?). Anyway, I can't comment on that because I never played the original. Then I got SMA4. Boy, I remember when I was looking at pics of it in NP magazine and thinking it was so awesome and obsessing about it. Anyway, I remember when I got it. I sped through the first 3 worlds in an hour, and I swear I never played the game before. (Perhaps maybe playing too much SMW payed off?). Looking on the new section with SMA4 compared to the SMAS version, I realize how easy they made it. Anyway, I then got the game on Wii, and I think it's very much more challenging, and I'm still stuck on the third world. So the SMA4 for that. Finally, I got SM64DS. Now that was the mother. I was more obsessed about that game, and I wanted it so badly. Seriously, I wanted it more than any other game in my life. I guess it was because ever since I watched my neighbor play SM64 (original), when I was like 2, I thought it was so fun. Anyways, I finally got it, and beat it in a week. Then I got a N64, and that was hard. I got 117 and gave up. I also bought it on Wii, and I beat that with all 120, and it was so fun. The original is much better IMO, the remake they changed too much. So there's my 6 anyways.

509
You beat Classic on Very Hard. Ooops, I did that today...

Hmm... True that, it's been awhile since I played Yoshi's Island. (I beat it, but I lost it)

Anyway, I've always wondered - In the intro to Super Mario Sunshine, you see the main island, (Isle Delfino), but surrounding it you see more. What possibly can these islands be?
