Fly around near the top. Grab the rings of coins... there's about 45 of them there. And... the red coins...

Since you can't use the slide, it's more annoying than in the original SM64.

Well, technically, you can use the slide, but only if you believe you can capture the star on the slide... Which is very difficult, believe me. But possible.

Could you use the slide and take the short cut through the wall, or am I thinking of somewhere else?

I always got the star on the slide in SM64.

That was a joke.

Can't you get all the coins on the slide FIRST and THEN get the ones that are on the path up the mountain?

OFF TOPIC: I was sitting here looking at Sqrt2's sig (trying to figure out how much I disagreed with it) and I finally realized what his name means!

NER!  Jeez, if you wanna be smart about it, go down the slide first!  I do this everytime!  Just walk up the mountain not getting any coins, then go down the slide, jump off the ledge and continue up the mountain getting the other half!  A duh!

Ah, but you see,
in Mario 64 DS, they sewed up that little ledge with a fence.  Once you get to the bottom, there's nothing to do but get the star.

And that's the problem.
