How to become a moderator

How do you become a moderator? Not that I really want to, but I would like to know. I know that you can't just sign up and become one, but what are the requirements?

It's more of a "Don't call us, we'll call you" situation, with most forums. From my experiences, it's the same here.

 If you exhibit good characteristics, posting quality, and are trustworthy, then you'll be picked.

 Of course, there really doesn't seem to be any need for any more moderators/administrators from my perspective, but there may be some things I don't know about.

I have a better idea: Don't bother. There won't be a need for any more for a LONG time. Besides, all that sucking up ain't worth it.

This is NOT the way. In fact I think it is better to be a regular member, and show maturit to the regular membars, and show that you don't have to be "high up" to be "well-liked."
