Well, we already saw Petey in one of the previews. He looked like some kinda...space...dinosaur....flower...thing. But it looked like he played a minor role.
I'm going to go out on a limb, here, and say that Bowser is definitely going to be the final boss. Only, he'll wear some metallic space armor and have glowing eyes...with a jet pack.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was someone else, though.

Since it is set in space, it would be nice if Tangata from SML would be the final boss. But it will probably be Bowser.

It should also be noted that in one of the demos, when Mario gets a Game Over, a outline of Bowsers face appears like in Super Mario 64. Unfourtunately, it will probably be Bowser...

It would be interesting/cool, but probably not likely, if it happened to be Rosetta.
