I like it when LD posts his comics because it's a nice break from randumb garfields, not that I think randumb garfields can get boring. Also I like it when it looks like Jon is talking to himself because he sounds so stupid.

I guess it's just me when I say I'd like to see what Garfield's saying (regardless if the comic's funny or not).

Also, the fact that you can't see what Garfield says makes it funnier because then I can interpret his reactions however I want, not however Jim Davis wanted. So naturally, I subconsciously interpret Garfield's silent reactions as hilariously as possible in my mind. Because I like humor. So it's a lot funnier than the original.
