Thanks. I'd say my personal situation is miles ahead of what it was when I was here last, figuratively and literally.

Watoad, Suffix and now Vid all live in Japan. And TEM lives in China.

Watoad DID live in Japan, on at least two occasions. I don't know if he currently lives here now, though. I remember asking him for some tips back before my trip to Shizuoka.

Whoa, he's back! Well, hey, good to hear you're keepin' on keeping on. I'm not planning on moving to Japan myself, but i'm still writing a book set there, and would like to tour again.

Sup.

I had to buy special geo-magnetic boots so I wouldn't get sucked into Japan.

I couldn't afford those. :(


I'll be totally honest, my original interest in moving to Japan was fueled by video games and anime, and seeing Watoad be able to travel there only made me want to go even more.

During my little dark period, the interest waned to almost nothing, because I saw my life wasn't really going anywhere. And seeing other people in the same boat as me didn't help matters. Not until I transferred to my second college was my interest re-invigorated. I was able to take Japanese classes, and the opportunity to study abroad also came up. The little barrier that prevented me from going very far from home was finally broken. In Shizuoka I learned more about the culture and got to experience so many different things that had nothing to do with my original interests.

When I returned to New York I felt that moving here for a longer period was a very good idea. So, I did just that. Finished my degree, found employment and moved here. The interest in moving to Japan was no longer based on video games and anime, but the culture and customs of the people, as well as the experiences I simply can't have anywhere in the States for one reason or another.

It's been just about half a year since I set up shop here. I originally planned on buying a Japanese Wii U and 3DS, but...why. Especially when downloading from the eShop and buying games online from Amazon are things.

Jeez.
I mean I've been on here for a decent bit but it still makes me feel fuzzy inside seeing people who are from around '06 returning.

Ahh, I always pop in late to these little reunion parties.

I imagine, or at least hope, most people who were here back during the FF's gilded age have somewhat calmed down and lost their "oh lulz you're pretty much stupid" attitudes by now, myself included.

Anyway, that's neither here, nor there. I've been alive, and doing quite well. If you were keeping track back then, things in my own life weren't too great when I left. I needed to fix quite a bit, and I did!

Back during the start of my leaving the forum, I did check in from time to time, because it was still habit for me. Eventually it left my mind to come here. I do recall seeing one post mentioning that I was actually banned from the forum, and another one saying I literally asked to be banned to make my exit more permanent. That was pretty far from the truth, as I was pretty apathetic. I left, and stopped posting. Then a ban was added, and later removed. Plain and simple.

So...yup. I returned to college not long after leaving. Then I transferred to another college, majored in music, and got my degree. I left New York not long after...actually, I left the country.

You could probably take a good stab at where I live now, since I claimed I'd want to move there one day. And I did. I live in one of the southern areas of Japan now.

Actually, this is the second time I'm living in Japan. Back in 2011 I did a study abroad in Shizuoka, similar to what our old friend Watoad did back when he was in college. On top of that I got to visit both Tokyo and Kyoto. I wanted to make an unexpected appearance on the FF with a photo of me standing in front of Nintendo Co. Ltd., but since NCL's just an office and not much else, I ended up not going there.

So, living on my own now, working a salaried job, doing the adult life thing.

When you're how you say "lurking" so much, I find it hard to take you seriously, Vid.

Then don't. I honestly don't care if you take me seriously or not, since you're over the internet and all. I return out of habit, despite the fact that this board is no longer in my bookmarks (GayGamer's forum is currently in its former spot), and like anything you've grown accustomed to for years (remember I've been a member of this forum since 2001), just going cold turkey won't work. I'm currently down to visiting this place once a day, for a few minutes.

Why is Vid quoting a book he hates? (Undeservingly, I would say.)

I thought what I had typed sounded kinda like what the main character of that awful book usually says or thinks, so I added that HTML tag. Personal opinion, Chup. Don't like it? Sorry, that's just me.

I did.

I'm pretty sure out of all the people who hated CTOAN at the time, I harbored the most hate for him.

BUT, I still always said in the back of my mind "He's young, and doesn't know better."

I feel this thread is the same exact case with him.

Personally, I respected the fact that I was a minor, and didn't really feel much need to get a job, be outside past a certain time, etc. etc., but I didn't really feel much different when I turned this "magical age". Sure, now I can legally look at porn sites, register to vote for our next U.S. President, and sign legal documents in my own name and not under my parents', but I'm still the same guy I always was.

CTOAN: Just wait is what I have to say. Things and opportunities will just open up when you legally become an adult in the government's eyes. You're really hating on things for no good reason. What you're really doing is just trying to force yourself to grow up. Don't.</Holden Caulfield> You're almost there, just try to hold together a bit longer. Be content with your age and place in society in the process.

NOTE: Don't expect me to post regularly after this. Seeing as leaving the forum completely proves difficult, I've been slowly weaning myself from it, lurking less and less each day, to lurking every other day, and so on, until, eventually, I just forget about it.

NOTE 2: I absolutely HATE The Catcher in the Rye.

I'm not looking for your sympathy, dipstick.

This will (hopefully) be my last reply here for awhile.

Here is my reason for not wanting to come here anymore, without the apparent "whine" or "complaining": Put simply, I'm just tired of coming here. It's taking a good amount of my time, which I'd rather use for more productive things. LD's recent posts are simply the final nail in the coffin, or, perhaps, the spark to the fuse.

I know I've told people I've been contemplating leaving for a good while now. It's not like I'm contractually obligated to stay. If I don't want to come here anymore, I don't have to. Saying I SHOULD stay and set an example obviously won't work, as the people who aren't so kind will just cancel it out.

I will say this, though, the amount of people who decided to put all their secretive hate or dislike for me out on the table after my departure is just downright insulting.

You could've talked about my sexual orientation if you wanted to. I thought I encouraged it, but there's a difference between simply not accepting homosexuals and gay bashing or homophobia. I'll tolerate the former and even respect your belief as I have others. *points to Sapphira*

I enjoyed coming here, and liked meeting many of the people who came (as well as some of the people who went). I am glad I came and registered here, but now I think it's my time to depart this place.

For similar reasons NE89 originally left, I feel there's too much hate here, but, to elaborate:

• Lizard Dude almost ALWAYS has to utter a put down for me whenever I post something he apparently has a problem with.
• Whenever ANYONE gets all emo about someone putting them down, a person who is friendly with the guy who put them down always says "THIS IS THE INTERNET" or "internet srs biz". Yes, that's true, it is the internet, but people usually go on the internet to enjoy themselves, not to be trolled and then be told "HEY IT'S THE INTERNET". It's like someone vomiting all over your face and then their friend offers to clean you off by spitting on you. Not fun.
• Some people who are STILL staff aren't very friendly to the not-so-bright members, either.
• The constant generic "Well you're pretty much wrong" post got old a long time ago. Opinions can't be wrong or right. If someone's facts are wrong, correct them. It's the least you can do after being condescending over the fact that they're wrong. A good few people here like to add insult to injury and, to put my feelings about that in terms that you can all understand, DO NOT WANT.
• After the fact that I enjoy Mario games and Nintendo, there's pretty much nothing else I have in common with most people here.

I did enjoy my time on these forums, but I would've rather left on a good note...=/

My parents played Pong on their honeymoon.

As for more recent games, my father played Wii Sports on my birthday, and beat me a couple of times in Bowling.

Back in the N64 days, my father liked to play Diddy Kong Racing with my brother, sister and I. He always played as Bumper, while my brother played as Timber, I played as Tip-Tup, and my sister as Pipsy. She got quite annoyed when my father beat her in one race. XD

My parents also played a Mortal Kombat game together, but the game's Puzzle Kombat minigame. Mom didn't know she had to focus on her playing field rather than her fighter at the bottom of the screen. XD

Bleh, I've tried doing that a few times, I don't really feel comfortable doing so, and would only do it at home.

I've got something to ask.

Why do women like candles?



This is a picture of our couch. That's not dirt on the arm, that's the ashes of what was a blanket that was destroyed by a lit candle. They've been seared onto the arm, pretty much.

This all happened literally about 15 minutes ago. I had just gotten out of bed, and started to browse the internet...then wondering "ugh...what smells like burning leather...must be the couch." Not a minute later, I hear screams for getting buckets of water downstairs. I open my door, and surely enough, a whole lotta smoke enters my room, and is still escaping through my window as we speak.

...Though I guess there might be a good side to this, the smoke and airborne ash was able to turn all the hidden spider webs black, so they'll be easier to find and clean.



We're thinking one of the cats might've knocked the candle over.

What a way to start the day. =3

Ups:
- You get to sit down on them. When you don't need to use it, you can just put the lid down and sit on it like a chair.
- They can look nice.

Downs:
- Sometimes they break.
