Paper Mario™
• The unique art style of the Paper Mario series gives new definition to 3D when
coupled with the visual effects of the Nintendo 3DS system.

In my opinion Paper Mario may be a perfect match for the 3DS, but I haven't seen it in 3D yet.  I'll update and possibly re-host or link TMK images later.  I'm watching the Sony conference right now.

Edit:  These images are on photobucket and may exceed bandwidth soon so get them while you can.  The Mario Kart images I posted in another thread are already gone.
Edit 2:  Sorry.  All images re-hosted now.

Video Game Chat / Wii2 in Nintendo Power: Rumors and Conjecture
« on: February 14, 2010, 10:29:45 AM »
Notice Wii2 on a Wii controller in the latest Nintendo Power.

Here's the official explanation:
"Someone (it may have been me, I don't remember) gathered a bunch of Nintendo-related images from wherever we could find them (such as the web) since we didn't have access to Nintendo's press site at that point, and I think we took the "Wii 2" one without noticing it had been altered. It was forgotten and left on our server, where it later got mixed in with our library of real assets once we started doing the magazine." - Nintendo Power's Chris Slate

The silicone covers were announced in October 2007.  As of issue #240 (April 2009) Future took over Nintendo Power.  So, why the Wii2 image with the silicone cover?  It's likely just a mistake like Chris Slate said, but compare it to these images:

The Nintendo Power image seems to be the same as the third one above, but with the number from the 2 button copied.  Problem solved.  Maybe.

While there have been rumors that Nintendo would be making a major announcement about a new system at the Media Summit on Feb. 24, it's likely that this will just be more info on the big screened DS, a firm date for games like SMG2, or some other new game.  Could even be something about the heart rate monitor or another peripheral.  Besides, if Nintendo was going to release a Wii2, why would they make it's controllers look just like the current model and even use the same stock image?  On the other hand, maybe this is well planned hype generation.

Discuss.

Video Game Chat / World of Goo Birthday - Pay what you want!
« on: October 13, 2009, 03:17:18 PM »

In honor of World of Goo's one-year birthday you can name your price for the PC/Mac version this week with paypal or a credit card.  I was considering getting it again anyway, but the new pay-what-you-want price and the fact that it works on Linux makes it a must buy for me now. I'm even going to pay above retail because the game was that good.

House fans, this is your reminder that the new season starts Monday night.

I'm teaching a robotics class this year and wonder what robotics/engineering/programming games you guys enjoy or think would be great for teaching. I recently stumbled upon robozzle.com and think it's great. World of Goo may have a little value for the class as well. What else?

We'll be engineering and building towers, bridges, and catapults/trebuchets. Building battery operated carnival rides (roller coasters, ferris wheels , etc.) with K'Nex. And most of all we will use Lego Minstroms NXT for various tasks. Some task will be out of various books/lesson plans, but then I'll open it up to other ideas like a robot that plays Dr. Mario or 100 pin bowling in Wii Sports Resort.

BTW, we just submitted a grant application for $5,300-$6,900 worth or Lego Mindstorms NXT equipment not to mention another grant for about $10,000 for laptops.  We will start with the Robotics Engineering I and the Education Resource Sets, but I plan to expand with more sensors and sets with my own money if the grants don't fully fund my project.

Any ideas on games/projects we could do?

You do not talk about "That's Clever".
You DO NOT talk about "That's Clever."
If someone says "no" or goes "lame", "strikes out" the discussion is over.

"That's Clever" will go on as long as it has to.
If this is your first Forum Game at Fungi Forums, you HAVE to post.

General Chat / The indention inbetween?

Most people from my...  Nevermind..

I typically indent if I'm typing something to be printed, but don't if it's a digital only document like a forum post, email, or webpage.

General Chat / The comma inbetween?
« on: July 31, 2009, 07:30:50 PM »
Most people from my generation used a comma preceding the "and" when listing sets, but most younger generations don't.  It could be argued that the comma is not necessary since the word "and" is used, but I think it avoids confusion.  What do you do?  What do you think of the practice either way?

General Chat / The spaces inbetween?
« on: July 31, 2009, 07:30:34 PM »
Most people from my generation used two spaces, but most younger generations use only one.  It could be argued that the extra space is redundant and unnecessary.  I think it looks neater especially when printed, but the difference is negligible.  What do you do?  What do you think of the practice either way?

Not at the Dinner Table / Your F Score?

I made a 2.7 and therefor am a liberal airhead.

What's your score?  http://www.anesi.com/fscale.htm

I debated over putting this here.  If Steve or anyone else sees it best in Not at the Dinner Table I won't argue.
