I love the TMK website. But one feature I cannot take advantage of is the movies, like on the glitches pages. Is there any chance of putting future movies on YouTube or something?

Game Help / Accidentally ended player 2 in SMB3

Is there any way to bring back player 2 once his game is ended? I accidentally hit "End" instead of "Continue".

I celebrate his birthday every year, which I always remember, because it's my birthday too!

I finally got around to trying it, and, yes, player 1 has to press start. Thanks for all the help!  :)

I'm sure if I reset it, it'll, well, reset, but I'm trying to avoid losing my game. I don't know if I pressed continue on the player-1 control. I'll try that. Thanks for the help!

Game Help / Super Mario Bros. 3 on Wii - continue error
« on: February 28, 2010, 06:12:03 PM »
In a 2-layer game of SMB3 on the Virutal Console, I'm on world 6 and Luigi ran out of lives for the first time. The Game Over screen appears, but I cannot select Continue or End. Pushing A, B, 1, 2, +, and - on the Wiimote on the classic control does nothing. I've gone back to the Wii menu, turned off the Wii, changed controls, and nothing seems to be able to get me out of the Game Over screen (short of resetting the game). I'm bummed! Any ideas? Thanks.

Mario Chat / Re: Did Rareware Ltd. Ruin the DK series?
« on: June 01, 2006, 07:36:31 AM »
I hate what Donkey Kong has become. I love the Mario series, in part, because of its recurring characters. But Rare's DK doesn't carry the spirit of the original DK. There's no thematic continuity with that character. When I see Mario, or a Shy Guy or whatever, I can remember where they began, and all the games they've been in. There's history there. But with Rare's DK, they stripped away that history. There's no thematic connection with the Mario universe. Rare's Kong-world doesn't fit in with Nintendo's Mario-world. Rare's DK doesn't belong in Mario games.

In my ideal world, Rare's DK game would have the "Donkey Kong" name removed. Call him anything else. "Rare Kong" or "Rare's Neat Gorilla Game". I don't want Rare's games to go away. I just don't want their influence to show in the DK character. My dream is Nintendo bringing back the DK from DK94 and DK Jr. Put those guys in the sports and party games and get rid of DK and Diddy. It's frustrating to see Rare's DK in the "Mario vs. DK" games, where the original DK so obviously belongs.

One huge step to getting things where I want them is to get rid of that giant eyebrow-forehead thing around his eyes. Without that, DK would look so much like he did in DK94.

Well, I finally beat her. I leveled up a whole bunch. Luigi died early on in the battle, and I left hum that way.  It was sooooo much easier to beat Cackletta when I only had to worry about one brother.

I got a couple of Gadd's things. What do I do with them? Do they work automatically? And what's the deal with the drinks I now have? If I drink them, will the effects be permanant or temporary?

Latest News / Re: E3 2006: Yoshi's Island 2

Looking at the videos here at TMK, I'm a bit sad that the boss didn't have that special kind of morphing like in the first Yoshi's Island (thanks to Super FX2). I am intrigued by baby DK. I would be perfectly happy if Nintendo forgot about the Rare continuity and treats current DK like original DK.

For some reason there's no "New Topic" button on the main page (help please?)

I am experiencing the same thing. I guess new members are restricted from starting new topics for a little while.

These Wikipedia articles don't really help resolve Donkey Kong's identity, but they're a good source for "official" opinions on the matter.

Wario's fart attack, while appropriate for the character, is completely obscene.

Thanks for the tips. I'm no good at timing my defence. I get hit all the time in battle. So I don't see myself getting past this part any time soon.  I think I'll go level up.
