And because you can only use him during boss battles without cheating or using a glitch?

"Oni Link" sucks. "Fierce Deity Link" doesn't.

Fierce Deity > Oni Link

Where did the term Oni Link even come from?

A game guide? If so the name is a mark of fail and noobness.

A fan fiction or something similar? Then it isn't official.

I think it's the Japanese term?
That was a joke.

Look at the fourth paragraph.
In other words, Chup is right.

Anyway, I think it would be cool if it was possible to hook a DS up to a Wii running Brawl and draw the Pictochat stage as it's being played on. Probably not going to happen, though.

No.
Quote
However, while appropriate, this name is technically not correct, as it is only half the translation. In the Japanese version, the Fierce Deity's Mask was called the Kishin Mask. The Kanji for oni (demon) and kami (god) combined reads kishin; meaning fierce god or fierce deity.
So, in the Japanese, it's the Demon God Mask, and only the Demon half is found in "Oni Link."

One thing that confuses me: the owl says that the swamp lost its guardian deity (along those lines anyway). Is he referring to one of the four giants, or the "Fierce Deity"?

^ He means one of the (creepy) Four Giants. Seriously, those guys are, like, 80% legs.

I thought "Oni" meant "adult", or something...

Who is the owl anyway? I mean, he's kinda creepy. He knows too well where Link is going to be at every turn.

He only appears twice in Majora's Mask and does something rather helpful each time. In Ocarina of Time he's known as Kaepora Gaebora, is said be a certain Gossip Stone to be a reincarnation of a sage (which I've read is a mistranslation) and is mostly just annoying.

All those (idiot) "the-Triforce-is-in-OoT-here's-how-to-get-it" net dwellers loved Kaepora Gaebora! He's perfect for weaving into false conspiracy theories, whether it's that he's actually Raru in disguise or that he...oh, it's not worth it.
