Sketch

Combine the powers of the Tanooki with the sly cunning of the Goomba. The result is an awesomely creative shape-shifting enemy only found in the two Mario & Luigi games. Be careful next time you come upon a seemingly innocent cup of tea...

I admit, the Tanoombas' transformations in Partners in Time actually tricked me three times on the overworld the first time I reached Thwomp Volcano. "What kind of coin is this!? Oh, awesome, it's a Tanoomba!" "Toad? What? Ohhhh... Ah. Tanoomba." "Another ? Block. No. Another Tanoomba."

This is why you don't trust things with raccoon tails. Or feed the animals.

I also laughed at the gyroid or whatever that is. What is it supposed to be exactly?
Fangirling over Luigi since 1999.

It is disguised as a Nebuloid, to be specific. Unless you count the slightly Zelda-esque treasure chest, it's the only cameo I put into this one. I could have used any object imaginable... how shameful.

Edit Wait, wait, the mark for the buried bean by the tree resembles the electron dot structure for Xenon... just add an e...

Why is the tree not a Tanoomba? And for that matter, why is the hammer not a Tanoomba that's been in disguise until they're surrounded by Tanoombas?

Moral of the Story:

If it's got a racoon tail, kill it or avoid it.

Those Tanoombas sure are tricky. Another quality work by BP. I love it!
Kinopio is the ultimate video game character! Who else can drive a kart, host parties, play tennis, give good advice and items, and is almost always happy??

Which is not to say you should throw Mario or Luigi off a cliff and waste the power to fly in Super Mario Bros. 3.

Pretty good. Yeah in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, they transform into Mario or Luigi. So what happens if they turn into something else?
