Author Topic: Mario's Money Machine  (Read 6034 times)

« on: June 03, 2005, 11:04:04 AM »
Although a lot of people may be getting sick of seeing Mario's face on so many games and merchandise, there are those of us fanatics who simply cannot get enough of him... such as me.  Well, I can get enough of Mario but I wouldn't mind seeing a few extra products that are covered with him and his friends.  Not a whole bunch but just a little.

Now to finally get to the big questions of this topic: if you could choose to make anything that had Nintendo's famous mascot on it-- like toys, clothes, etc-- what would it be?  And what kind of new, original games would you want to see with him in it?  Here's my answers.

Merchandise: (1) I wouldn't mind some toy gold coins that have that little I in the middle and feel like real money (I don't know, it just would be fun to have).  Or maybe as tokens for a Nintendo arcade or something.
(2) Some Mario wrap-arounds for your game systems like the Pokemon stuff, which might be coming soon anyway.
(3) A Mario Monopoly is a must, but a SSBM Monopoly could be even better as someone here mentioned.  Or maybe a Mario chess board.
(4) Piano book for the songs in DDR:MM.
(5) A voice-changer toy to sound like good ol' Charlie!

We have do everything we can to compete with Spongebob!

Games: DDR, Mario's Mix is something that I never even dreamed of happening and now I really look forward that.  But there's still more to make!

 (1) Mario Party Deluxe (not original but hey) [Revolution].  As you know it has all of the old mini-games and boards together in one game, and you can choose which ones you want in the game and which left out.  Something new you get is the flash mini-game mode where just like Wario Ware you play just a few seconds of a mini-game (but longer in this case) and then keep going through them quickly and trying to get the most points however you do that.

(2) Super Wario Bros. [Revolution].  A big no-brainer, but better than you think.  Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, and Bowser Jr. are sent to a strange new dimension and must work together to battle tons of old and new enemies, travel to other dimensions (some like Mario's) and find their way home.  This might not sound that great but unlike most Mario games in this one you will discover many secrets about Mushroom world like who is Bowser's wife and where are his children?  And you can control the characters separetely just like in Sonic Adventure but also work together at times.  You also get new weapons like fireball guns and such.  Game also has multi-player missions and battles.  Keep your eyes peeled for characters like Wart Jr., Tatanga, Geno and Mallow!

It's pretty sad that I want all of that stuff, huh?  I might think of some more later, but what do you think?

Piano music is a must-- But not just for the DDR thing, I hope. I think a Mario LEGO series would be great. LEGO has had a great affinity for movie stuff; I think that they could have a video game collector's set.

Mario Party Deluxe, though not with the WarioWare-esque thing (just doesn't work on a console you know), with the idea of EVERY minigame and being able to choose which ones to leave in and which to leave out... that would be ideal. I loved the minigames in the original Mario Party, like Bumper Balls and Mario Bandstand and whichever Deep Sea Diving minigame had you diving for treasure which then got hoisted back up to the boat. I just didn't like that I had to stick to ONE page (or was it one category) o' minigames when compiling a list to play. That was stupid. If I could take out all the blister-inducing minigames from the first (Tug o' War and Pedal Power are what caused me to skid to a halt on Minigame Island!), I'd be in Mario Party heaven. Every Mario Party after the first just got progressively worse in my opinion. You know, 70 minigames doesn't sound like a lot anymore, and that number never really moved, sometimes decreasing. Come on, give us 120 minigames, you can spare ultra-fancy boards for that.

Oh, right, Mario merchandise. Okay, how about a horse-racing simulation, but with green yoshi, pink yoshi, yellow yoshi, and Boshi? Complete with Mushroom Derby music as the race is going, of course. Or, yes, a Mario chessboard (just for the idea of moving around a Yoshi figurine), although I'm terrible at chess. Or how about fulfilling an idea from an old Nintendo Power magazine where there's Mario gum? Mario's cinammon, Bowser's sour, Yoshi's spearmint, and Peach is bubble gum, if I remember all those correctly.
You didn't say wot wot.

Hats. Like, the real hats. With the M or L on them.
Energy drink with a starman on the label.
More bowser T-shirts.

Oh yeah, I was just thinking about having the real hats too.  Those would sell good.

Here's a really good one: episodes of SMB:SS on Gameboy Advance Video!  Nintendo would be getting filthy rich with practically no effort whatsoever!  Even I might buy some... and a Gameboy to go with it.

Mario LEGOs have already been made, just not by LEGO.
200 characters and nothing to say.

7-up should be renamed 1-up and have a picture of a 1-up mushroom on it. I know this will never happen but it's a good idea.

Paper Luigi yay! You''ll get to stay home and clean the house when Mario is out having his adventures and saving the Mushroom Kingdom yay!

The Speak Up mini-game in Mario Party 6 should be a game show in real life. Ken Jennings should host the show. There should be a casino in Las Vegas (or in New England for those of you who aren't used to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun) called Luigi's Casino based on Luigi's mini-games in SM64DS. I was thinking of also building a cafe called The 8-bit Joint based on the Revival House that I went to a few weeks ago.

A cafe, hmmmmm?  Nice.  How about this?  Mario-themed cell phone covers!  And for a new kind of sport game you could have a 007 like adventure in Super Mario Paintball!  I can just see it now... really weird. XD

 Frog suit anyone?

Heh heh... I'd get that.  And start swimming too.  Too bad that a tanooki suit wouldn't work like you want it to.

Oh man, I just got a really noss idea!  I bet that more than one person has thought of this before but what about... personalized Mario hats!  Here's what it is.  You get either a red, green, yellow, or purple hat like Mario's, but the area with the letter of the character is blank.  That little circular area has a little plastic slot and in that slot you can place a card with a letter of your first name and it has a look like the M on Mario's hat.  So... ain't it cool?!

I remembered about my last idea of SMB:SS episodes on SBA Video and that got me thinking... are Nintendo still making new ones?  I never see any more of those!

Hmmm...how about Yoshi suits? a person puts it on and zips it up.It can come in a vaiety of colors. And maybe they can sell the clothes Mario,Luigi,Wario and Waluigi wear, so people can find them at once. They should also make Peach and Daisy dresses and crowns for girls who like to dress as Princesses on Halloween. No Toad suits, because then people will be walkin around with a blue vest with no T-shirts,lol.If they decided to sell Donkey Kong suits I'd buy one. What if Nintendo had their own TV channel? They would have gained so much money that they would sponsor their own show. They would show the SMB:SS,Pokemon,Zelda, ect.Although I really dont see Nintendo having their own show that would be so cool.

I agree, and can see that coming in many, many years after the movies and stuff.  I've often thought about how neat it would be to have a channel with all VG cartoons, old and new, and also VG movies, commercials, and rating shows.  I don't think G4 has all that (I don't have that channel but wish I did).
