If there's something toasty in your neighborhood
Who you gonna call?
Toastbusters!
If there's something burnt and it don't smell good
Who you gonna call?
Toastbusters!

If you're smelling toast running through your head
Who you gonna call?
Toastbusters!
An invisible man trying to feed you bread
Who you gonna call?
Toastbusters!

Moments before the potential toaster accident, a time machine materializes and Einstein steps out, prevents the toaster accident, steps back into the time machine, and disappears.  Thus the accident is prevented and Einstein lives on to invent a time machine.

Video Game Chat / Re: Have video games ever made you cry?

I know for a fact I've cried out of frustration from video games at least once, several years ago.  I don't recall actually coming to tears in any games recently, but several games have recently almost brought me to tears of joy.  I think the game that came closest to bringing me to tears of joy was Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, during the scene during the final battle where all the NPCs start cheering for you.

The ghost who will not be named from PM:TTYD is too embarrassed to steal your identity.

I've not played most of these but I voted for Golden Sun.  I sure hope that some day they make Golden Sun III.

Really?  I thought you got a win if one of your opponents disconnected, but I could be wrong.  Are you reporting from personal experience, or do you have a source somewhere?  The win/loss system is very poorly designed if you don't get a win when your opponent disconnects...

My family just bought an HDTV.  I now know why HDTVs are not yet mainstream.  It's not because they're too expensive.  It's because they suck.  According to the TV's user manual, we can't watch 4:3 broadcasts in standard 4:3 mode more than 15% of the time, or else we will unevenly burn the TV's phosphors and make 16:9 sources look bad.  Instead, we have to watch 4:3 sources in 16:9 mode, with everyone stretched out to look fat.  We bought a CRT projection TV specifically so that we could get several resolutions and watch 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i sources without scaling, but it's moot because we still have to scale standard 4:3 broadcasts, which is what we will be watching 90% of the time.  In my mind there is a rather obvious solution to the phosphor burn-in problem: the TV should analyze the signal and dynamically change the brightness of the side bars in 4:3 mode to match the average brightness of the center screen, preventing uneven burning of the phosphors.  Apparently this idea never occurred to the engineers who designed our TV.  Due to poor design, our new HDTV looks much worse than our old TV for standard low-def sources.  We collectively have buyers' remorse.

If you disconnect it counts as one or more losses for you and a win for your opponent(s), so disconnecting isn't cheating.  In fact it can be a time saver.  If you are playing 1v1 against an opponent who wins the first three races, then you have no possible way of winning the tournament (unless your opponent disconnents) so you can save time by disconnecting.  It's sort of like resigning in a game of chess when you see that your opponent has a forced win.

I snake, and I don't think it's cheating, but I do wish that snaking were not part of the game.  I don't see the point of including it in the game.  It's a rather random skill which doesn't model any actual physics.  I'm also tired of its quasi-legal status.  I'd prefer if snaking were done away with all together, but if it has to be in the game, it should be an actual part of the game, not a "hidden" technique.  They should mention and encourage snaking in the manual, the AI should snake on higher difficulty levels, and the staff ghosts should snake.

If I end up getting this game, whenever I play as white mage or black mage I'll be thinking of the characters from 8-bit Theater.

I think the above tip only makes sense if you have air conditioning... all I have is heating.
