I like looking at old posts for that very reason:

Sorry I didn't look at the date or when the user was last on online. It won't happen again.

Anyone interested in making this a Fire Emblem general thread?

I love the series and I've got back into it trying to beat Radiant Dawn (Silver Team is horrendously underpowered and outnumbered by the golden soldiers FFFFFF). I plan on picking up Shadow Dragon soon since I actually prefer the handheld games to the console ones.

I'm also under the belief that anyone who though Micaiah would make a great FE representative for Brawl never actually played Fire Emblem because she's an awful unit with a mary sue complex.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

I'm all for it...
I can't really call myself a fan, though, seeing as I only own Path of Radiance, which I have beaten.  I had thought about getting Radiant Dawn but never got around to it (just like every other decent game for the Wii that I still need to get, i.e. Galaxy), and I fiddled around with a NES Fire Emblem ROM but the gameplay of the series has evolved so much that it's tough to appreciate the older games.

If you had to recommend one of the games (besides PoR, of course), which one would it be?

Well, Fire Emblem Advance is probably a must-play for anyone who enjoys the series. It's probably the most famous one in the west due to its connection with Roy's backstory even though Roy has nothing to do with the game aside from a cameo at the end. The game doesn't give you a lot of space for slacking if you don't properly level up your units though, which can make it very difficult as you near the end of the campaign. Still pretty good though.

Radiant Dawn is also worth buying, but you're going to need a lot of patience for that one. The campaign is long and the maps are huge. Not to mention any mission involving the Dawn Brigade is usually an uphill battle due to their whole underpoweredness. Luckily, the game lets you share exp. points with any unit, and the Skills come in handy a lot.

Genealogy of the Holy War. It's tied with Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga as my favorite game ever. That is if you don't mind using a ROM.

I'd love for this become a general Fire Emblem topic.

Shadow Dragon is pretty fun, and you get to see another remake of the first game.
That was a joke.

It's OK, It's nothing compared to SNES Fire Emblems.Try Mystery of the Emblem Part 2 [(there's two "books" (parts)] after Shadow Dragon because it's a sequel, Thracia 776 is good but HARD. Genealogy of the Holy War is fun and not too difficult MOST of the time.

On the contrary, it's much more fun to use the stylus than the D-pad.

What? I can't stand the Stylus. The D-Pad is much better in my opinion.

Using anything but the D-Pad for a Fire Emblem game is just wrong. I even used the GameCube's awful and poorly placed D-Pad just because I could.

Hey LuigiBros, was it Holy War or Thracia that made you switch your party up every chapter because your units would get tired? Stupid limitation makes grinding impossible.

What's wierd about the Stylus control is that there is a whole extra row only touchable by the Stylus but units can't be moved there.

Thracia. It is annoying.  If you plan it right it helps but it can still get in the way.

In Holy War you have to bring everyone to every chapter. Of course not everyone is worth using but it's nice. If you plan it right it helps.

I love the GCN D-pad! I think it's my favorite one! The small size reduces excess thumb travel wonderfully.

How can you use the D-Pad on any Gamecube game? It's really hard.

I remember using the D-pad for:

Warioware, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Sonic Mega Collection
Sonic Gems Collection

I loved that pad.
