I hear the sense of smell and the sense of taste are closely connected as well...
They are; my uncle fell off a hill when he was a kid and lost both. He's a terrific cook, despite that, and a couple of years ago they've begun to come back to him.
Having no sense of smell would suck for me... how could I tell when garlic was somewhere nearby? I also can tell the difference between sodas before anyone takes a sip, which may have saved a gulp of Dr Pepper for me tonight. Losing my sense of taste, oooohhh.... that's a nightmarish idea.
I can't really say anything interesting about my senses... I'm average and boring. I think I'm left-ear-dominant, though, while in everything else I am right-dominant.
