Hmmm, I don't know if this list is being strictly restricted to **just** the Mario video games that females have been in or in other "Mario"...umm..items??? I can recall from the Mario cartoons [SMB3] There was that freaky underwater "ugly" mermaid that thought Mario was her husband in the frog suit,... or something like that! Peach, Daisy, Plum, Syrup, Wendy 0. Koopa, [aka Cutie Pie]  And I remember in some of the Mario comics [SMB3;2?], there was a Piranha plant character that was a female, [sorry, but I really can't remember the names~] And also  in the comics,[SMB3] I think Big Bertha [that big fish that always tries to eat you] Was a female... ^^;;; or at least in that comic she was. And again, I don't know if this counts, but there were ALOT of Cavewoman in the cartoon Super Mario World. [Oye, how I miss that show, ^_^; Uktar (that's how you spell his name, right?] was so messed up in the head! It was funnie~]

Speaking of the mushroom people...

I always thought fungi (mosses, molds, and mushrooms) repruduced asexually through spores, so that different genders are unecessary.  Of course, if game makers didn't take certain creative liberties like that it wouldn't be much fun at all, would it?
Someone set up us the bomb!

All lichenomycete fungi reproduce sexually, the deuteromycetes are asexual.  Deuteromycetes are composed of 3 phyla: Basidiomycota (true mushrooms), Ascomycota (pseudomushrooms), and Chytridiomycota (chytrids).

Well there was that witch in Super Mario Land 2 plus there was Axel Pink from Mario RPG. And most likely there will be some new girl in Paper Mario. And was the worm like guy from Super Mario World(in the Lost Forest)also a female.

I am the best RPG villian ever.

Ulrta Luigi, the caterpillar in MP2 is the same character at the "worm in the lost woods" that Gilgamesh mentioned.

I think some of these posts have been a little misguided. "Koopa Troopas are female" "Cheep-cheeps are male", etc.
There are many Koopa Troopas. Many of them are male, and many are female. Cheep-cheaps, I assume, are the same.
Of Birdo, there could be just one. I don't think more that one has ever been on the screen at once. However, because Birdos come in different colors and abilities, I think there are many as well. I think there are both female and male birdos but they all like to wear big bows on their heads.
Mushroomians, both male and female. I don't think the people of TMK are really fungi, they just wear mushroom "hats" and tend to be short.
Actually, when it comes to Spinys, Buzzy Beetles, Cheep-Cheeps and a few other creatures, I don't think it matters what gender they are. I believe they are "un-intelligent" lifeforms. Like pets of the koopas or wildlife or whatever.

Err..well, that's about it.

TurtleTek-Everything you just said I already posted.  Doesn't anybody ever listen to me?  By the way you see two Birdos in the same room in "Super Mario" Bros. 2" in level 8 on a conveyor belt or something.  One is purple and one is green.

Yeah, Birdos are like Yoshis.  There are a ton of them, but we select that one Green Yoshi as _the_ Yoshi and that one pink Birdo as _the_ Birdo, who (as Mega 2 did mention) was named Catherine in Wario's Woods for no appparent reason other than to confuse the issue.

Mega 2, it's true, many of your posts hint at what I just said. However, not in so many words. And "Lakitu is a woman" doesn't quite simplify anything either. ..Hm. Speaking of Lakitu, I assume there are several. The "Lakitu brothers" are mentioned in Mario64.

So two Birdos appear on the screen at once in SMB2? Thanks. Oh, and I'm glad they give "THE Birdo" a name rather than calling her "Birdo" like they do Yoshi. How annoying.

This is the third-oldest topic of this message board. I brought it up as additional evidence that Chocobo is the oldest of the currently active members, in case Something about Mario Golf and Tennis wasn't enough for you.
