You seem to have missed some games, like Mario Kart Super Circuit, SMB2j, and some others. Nevertheless, I vote for MKDS.

WTD? Why not SMB?!That game is pretty much the reason games are as big as they are today! This game saved the home industry!Also, after over 20 years, it is still fun. Not very many games can be that entertaining.
SM64 would be my second choice since it breathed the life into 3D gaming.SMW was good too. It seems that mario makes his peek at system launches (except the GCN,GBC,DS and the GB,)

Jeez, having to choose between Super Mario Bros. 3, World and 64 was insanely hard. It's a good thing Yoshi's Island wasn't in there, becuase then it would have been even more difficult.
In the end, I went with SMB3. Though in truth, I'd have to say SMB3, SMW, 64, YI, SMRPG and Mario and Luigi: SSS are probably all tied for first. Hopefully Super Mario Galaxy will be joining that winner's circle withn the next few months...
Edit: LAME! I didn't see an ALL option! That would have been much more true for me than just picking SMB3. Oh well.

Why don't you have Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the list? Many consider it to be the greatest platformer ever (though I still prefer SMB3)...

I voted for Wrecking Crew because this is about the only time I've ever seen in in a poll and I love it to death(and so does my grandfather). It needs more recognition.

Well, there are games out there that are odd, but enjoyable. Are you sure this should be a poll? What about Strikers?

Out of all the Mario games I've played this one sticks to me the most. I don't know why maybe the music the scene, story lines, it just takes me back to when i first bought it. :)

Generally speaking, telling people to fix their grammar out of nowhere is just asking for trouble. Of course, it's far worse when you make twice as many grammar (more accurately, punctuation) mistakes than the person you criticise. Just a warning for the future.
Also, these grammar posts need to be split. I was going to do it myself, but I forgot that I can't do that in this sub-forum. Whoops.

SMB3 is the best Mario platformer. Mario platformers > other Mario games.

For me, it's the terrible plot and bad things it's done for the Mario series. Like Petey Piranha, Bowser Jr., and Piantas. All have been overused. Although, PM:TTYD brought a bit of light into my opinion of Piantas. But the whole island theme was abused in games following, like MK:DD!! for example. Petey Piranha... I don't think I even have to explain for that one. I mean, I personally do not hate SMSu, but could that plot have been any worse?! "I'm your mama?" x_x Don't you think Peach would remember giving birth to an evil Koopa, or having the preceding affair with Bowser to begin with? I mean, she was even kind enough to piece it together for us. "I'm your mama...?" "Yeah, papa told me all about it!" "So you're Bowser's son?" That really helps her defense. Maaaan... Definitely not one of my favorites...
Anyway, my whole list:

While the plot was a bit off in that game, I think the game looks get while you play it, and I like the gameplay where there's a main area like Delfino Plaza, Peach's Castle, or Gruntilda's Lair, and then there are a bunch of levels you go into that have individual tasks to collect stars, or shines or jiggies. So while I agree that Petey Piranha was too weird and sudden a character to be made a selectable character in MK:DD, I still think the game he came from had at least good gameplay. Nevermind the weird plot. At least I don't mind it...

Yeah, it was a truly awesome game. Of course The original game was the best. It brought Gaming out of the slum that Atari created With abominations for the 2600, like E.T. and Pac-Man (the 2600 version). It is the reason gaming is like it is today. SMB is modern gaming's father. Not saying SMB 3 was bad though...It is second best, third being SM64.
Of course that just how I look at it.

Sorry, but I can't say I have 1 favorite Mario game. The best games I have ever played are all the Mario RPGs, and they are all even to me.

I'm not going to vote, as my favorite game is always changing. No, it's not based on what's out or popular, it is just always changing.
Currently my favorite game is Mario VS DK 2 on the DS.

3. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
I think the "system" of powers, blocks etc. established in "Super Mario Bros." and used in its sequels (minus the American "Bros. 2") as well as "World" and the first 2 "Land" games is the best system to be used in any Mario games, and possibly in all adventure-type video games. I also feel the best variation on this system is in "Super Mario Bros. 3," with elements like the system of storing powers and acquiring exotic powers like the Hammer Bros. suit and Jugem's Cloud. I also think its difficulty level is better than that of its rivals ("World," by contrast, is too easy). The Mario vs. Luigi aspect of it makes for more enjoyable 2-player gameplay than other 2-player Mario games, which usually have them working together. Besides all those things, I think the programmers really outdid themselves with the graphics, music, and gameplay, making the most of the N.E.S.'s capabilities. Although I was pretty young when it came out, I do remember it seeming like it was head and shoulders above other N.E.S. adventure games in terms of looks and what you could do.
That's why I like "Super Mario Bros. 3" the best.
