For now the only way to cheat with a DS is using trainers, or loading modified ROMs through a flashcart.

but isnt that the point of a portable gaming system to play portable games, instead of a home entertainment system which plays games at.... home?

Sorry dude, that definatley isn't cool. Now, I have a bunch of relatives who collect trains, and play chess, and that sort of thing. I kinda take chess as a timeless thing, but on topic, board games, trains, and all that great stuff was the form of entertainment at the time. Videogames, movies, the internet, are what people like to play around with now. So, simillar concepts maybe?

Also im really confused about that guy being mad about this message board. Somewhere in the ballpark of everyone here plays videogames... so everyone here needs a life? so does that mean you two could get counsoling together? My other point here, is if you lied so much about him, how did he know you were talking about him, or if this "glorb" guy has any relationship to "that kid i ever so politley commented on videogames about"

But whatever...

Oh, and his wife should have taken well to the witty italics comment

Video Game Chat / Re: Will Wii Make it?
« on: May 29, 2006, 09:16:18 PM »
Okay, lets break all this down...
Lets start with Japan.
In Japan, the 360 factor is realatively negligable. Its a battle between a 250 dollar Wii, and a 500 dollar PS3. Yes, the PlayStation name may mean a lot, but that sure didn't do a thing for Nintendo when they lost their grip on the consol (ahah julius ceaser last consol... i crack myself up) market. To top all of this off, the DS is allready on fire over there. So I really don't see a reason that Nintendo can't win in the land of the setting (rising?) sun.

In America though, the 360 isn't something to shrug off. It will have several (probobly not 10) million consols allready sold before the wii and ps3 set foot here. the price gap between a 200 dollar wii and 300 dollar 360 isn't the same gap between that of the PS3. Not to mention, in America people seem to care a lot more for their graphical fix, and wouldn't mind the eye-candy of the wii's opponents. Ultimatley the wii could get high up in the market by getting new people to play, and satisfying the plebians with an affordable consol (no roman joke intended). I still think that the 360 will most likley take the market over here, maybe not by much, but I think M$ has gotten their act together.

Have any of you guys beaten a metroid game really fast before? Or seen the screenshots to the new smash bros game?

Personally I don't find a problem with a plot as simple as "gorilla captures girl, man who jumps must save girl" offensive. I mean, does anyone care about the plot in MB, or SMB, or pretty much any Super Mario game (with a few exceptions). Peach has done her fair share of keeping her pathetic little partners alive in SMRPG. But I would agree that a game like Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball does much work edgewise...

Video Game Chat / Re: WARNING - HEALTH AND SAFETY
« on: May 29, 2006, 08:57:43 PM »
In truth people that prone to seizures could have them while watching tv in the dark. Now don't get me wrong, Im okay with the warning, but its only there to prevent Nintendo from getting sued. Does everyone remember that news story about the episode of pokemon aired in Japan causing all of those seizures? Anyway, if it really bugs you that much, pull out a paper-clip, buy a passme, and a gbamp, and go flash your DS. (I haven't seen that warning on the DS in a few months actually)
