I didn't get him after beating Event 20.  I haven't completed all 1 through 20 though. 
Wasn't there for me.  All I got was a heart.  I don't recall what was there the first time, but maybe this only works after you've completed Subspace. 

you do Gotta beat Subspace. Same with Jigglypuff (Swamp Stage after beating giant Diddy Kong in the area of all those barrel cannons) and Wolf (Ruins Stage after that part with those crystals on the walls). those doors only appear after beating it.

I have a pic of Snake grabbing Zero Suit Samus and then umm.... Let the rest be in your imagination. Another one where Toon Link is giving Samurai Goroh [THAT'S NO GOOD]

Someone on the last page said about Wolf blocking a lot of moves. That is very very annoying. Specially at the fight when I had to unlock him. I couldn't get clean shots at him either, I fought him the 1st time with Sonic (It was very stupid of me since I had gotten him minutes earlier) And lost, So then I tried with ROB, and lost. then I tried Lucas a character I am more familiar with. I lost. Then I tried with my main man Luigi (I don't like how his karate chop has been slightly nerfed and his missile move just doesn't go as far. I haven't even seen his awesome explosion missile yet! Not one time!) and I finally won. See kids It's all about choosing the right character.

Up's are that the Vs mode match number required to get some chars has been lowered. Down is that everyone seems slower than they were in melee. Fox really seems to have slowed down to Mario's Speed. Down is that they made some chars too hard to unlock. example Jigglypuff, You have to Finish SSE and go back to the swamp stage or something Why such a hassle for Jigglypuff?

Just play through SSE like I will. I'm not sure why they aren't showing up, try other conditions to unlock them if there are any (Like SSE)
