Video Game Chat / Re: So does anyone here play Step Mania?

Not having played StepMania, I can only assume that DDR is still better.

Wrong. Especially looking at DDR's latest releases... also you can theoretically play whatever songs you want on Stepmania if you find or make charts to them.

I play Stepmania, both on pad and on keyboard. I'm also a simfile designer.

an interesting read that may explain why some people can get turned on by Yuri and the like, while others just don't see it. It seems anime characters are probably one of the best examples of something right on that really steep upslope in the picture, so for some people it falls in the "human-like" category, and others file them with corpses and puppets as creepy.

and don't get me started on commercials (one exception, the old BLOW'D UP E-Trade commercial).

I was so angry when the commercial ended and this didn't turn out to be an actual movie. Nowadays commercials make me want to throw up in my mouth. A lot.

There's a lot of examples, but I think the "all adult males are insensitive stupid buffoons" genre of commercials that try to be funny but just wind up over the top and obnoxious is one of the worst offenders right now. Ugh.

What program are you using? I've been wanting to make such a game for some time now.

Reading back to last page, was I the only person who thought the propellor Jiggy in Rusty Bucket Bay was easy to get?

Oh, there's good charts in DDR -- Holic, So Deep, and Max 300 (all Heavy) come immediately to mind for 8-9-10 difficulties. For the most recent mix, I like Xepher Oni (not Heavy) and Max 300 Super-Max-Me mix Oni (DEFINITELY NOT HEAVY).

Oh, I do make simfiles myself. Go to my subforum on this site (note, you will have to register to download the files but that doesn't take long), download a few of those for Stepmania, and if you want to rip them apart go ahead. :P Note that I am an ITG player by nature and my charts are much more ITG like than DDR like.

Also note that I wasn't staff on this site when I joined <_<

Hahaha, there's about 4 bets I will never ever ever take, and a "who can go the longest without swearing" bet is one of those.

So today I took my P exam for the Society of Actuaries. It turned out to be a LOT easier than the FM exam I took last spring, and since it was computerized, I found out that my score was a likely pass right after I took it.

Yay.

For boys -- Michael. First born son is being named Michael unless future wife freaks out about it.

For girls... No clue. At all.

I think a big part of any misunderstanding between mods/staff here and the member base is explained by one of the more recent threads here - the How old are you? thread.

With one exception, all of the mods+ on this site are 20 years old or older. Of the non-mod+ members, I'd estimate the average age to be around 16 or so. 16 year olds will act a lot differently than adults on post board forums. 14 year olds, even more so (I seriously thought I was "mature" at 14, I read back to my posts then and cringe) ... I'm not saying you aren't mature at 14, I'm just saying... when you turn 19 or 20, read your posts from back when you were 14.

You know what I hate about moderating forums?

There's always someone complaining about the job you're doing. I mean, even if you change your moderating style and the first person stops complaining, another person suddenly hates the changes you make. It's a neverending looping cycle, man.
