...Bowser managed to deface the large map of the Mushroom Kingdom, showing tips, hints, and routes around the place. Link swears something unprintable at Bowser and goes back outside. Bowser has disappeared, but he left large footprints. Link decides to follow them...

um, I think you should reset your game. It looks like you're stuck in the infamous "Backwards pants" glitch. Only resetting your game, then pressing A,A,A,B,B,L,R,start,A will un-glitch it.

Turn around, and press the B button to pull down Mario's pants. The Goomba will be shocked, allowing you to do a super jump to stomp it.
