EB0 is much like a college project and EB is much like the same thing with more money, more experience and better tech. Sure EB0's failings are a product of its time, but, that doesn't change the fact that the game is awful at conveying where to go or what to do or what most PSI does, or that the game is so horribly balanced (it's been said that Mt. Itoi was literally not playtested), or that it's incredibly rare for Lloyd or Ana to ever survive a battle. I'd recommend EB first, then M3, and then EB0... if you really want to.

I doubt it, but, we don't really know. People love to act like it's K. Rool but there's no evidence beyond "a bunch of Redditor reported, to each other, that they voted K. Rool"

If they are about to be announced and released, then this recent update makes a little sense, now many people have the download done in advance and just need the curiously large download of a key (I've never understood what is IN a DLC key that requires a download so large if the character is already in a patch)... the leak months ago that had Roy and Ryu's names in it, though, I don't get. Why prepare musical stuff so early on?

Roy and Ryu have been mined out of the most recent patch, as well as a Street Fighter stage for Ryu, Dreamland 64, and I guess Lucas.

I got nothing to say about Roy, really. Ryu seems to have real combos--moves that can cancel into other moves while the opponent is in hitstun, like in traditional fighting games and Lucario in Project M. He also has two final smashes. Given their presence I'm betting they'll be released really soon.

Better start walkin', bud!

Hmm... now that I think about it... I still think the above is true, but consider: Luigi's voice was never nailed down until 16 years in, in Luigi's Mansion. I didn't even realize Spikes were a recurring thing until NSMBU, because they looked so different in Super Mario 3, Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story and NSMBDS, they weren't called Spikes in Paper Mario and didn't do the same thing they usually do, and it was not mentioned that Tolstar was a Spike in Mario & Luigi: SS and he looked a little different. Something as simple as Yoshi's body type has varied and varied and varied and varied. Maybe the real problem is that Mario simply took forever to reach a point that it started to be consistent at all. And maybe now that it has, it's just that there's no way everything can settle on the designs that any one person liked the most.

In Paper Mario and M&L's cases it's the same thing as when, say, you have an artist who draws a pokémon so on-model that at first glance you don't know it's not a Ken Sugimori original

versus, when you have somebody following the example but doing their own thing,

which carries a bit of personality. In an entire game's case, it conveys a tone. Paper Mario looks like it wants to get you invested, but not be taken TOO seriously. M&L:SS looks like it wants you to laugh.

Got my Ness amiibo, but I am disappointed in the AI. It is becoming difficult to beat, but not because it's a smart or effective attacker. It's just doing what level 9 CPUs have always done in lieu of being smart or unpredictable, shielding and dodging with impossible foresight. It has learned to use PSI Magnet when I'm using PK Thunder to recover... but hasn't figured out that the point is to be where I am, and steal my PK Thunder so I can't make it back to the stage (admittedly this is a trick that only works for Ness in a mirror match, until Lucas is released). Worst of all, it keeps using PK Thunder 2 off the ground, which I have never ever ever done in its presence, and never works. Hey. Bad Ness/Lucas players and bad Ness/Lucas AIs. Stop using PK Thunder 2 as a ground attack. It is slow, telegraphed, and easily shielded, avoided or countered. Kudos for not being Kirby and spamming Stone but you're only half a rung above that if you think PK Thunder 2 is a good ground attack. Sincerely yours, die.

I loved it! I'll admit it's a pretty badly-written story and feels unfinished because all we get is a stable time loop with no actual killing of Hitler, but I expected nonstop absurd 80s action and that's what I got in spades

I got a 750 Ti, whoops

That's okay though, I'm not chomping at the bit to get a Rift, although I do want one and think it's super cool. Maybe either when I get one I'll at least be able to use it with particularly well-optimized games, or I'll upgrade my graphics card again near the same time?
