Does anyone know if the PAX channel is available to DSS subscribers?

Three Rings for the Elven-Kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-Lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for mortal men doomed to die,
One for the dark lord on his dark throne

In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

-Elvish verse, as translated by Gandalf

Mario Chat / Re: Super Mario Bros.3 for the 64?
« on: August 16, 2000, 04:59:44 PM »
It's possible... they'd have to include nearly every Mario game ever made to come close to maxing out space limitations on the 64 cart, though.  I have an idea- how 'bout they make a brand spankin' new game in the style of SMW and release it for the 64 with all the older games thrown in for good measure!

Oh yeah, like at the end of "A Christmas Story" when the guys at the Chinese restaurant are singing:

Manager: No, no, no!  Like this!  <ahem>
'Deck the halls with boughs of holly;
Fa la la la la, la la la la!'
Now you try.

Waiters with thick Chinese accents:
'Deck the harrs with boughs of horry;
Fa ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra!'

I don't have a huge problem with Waluigi, except that he has a cheesy name and the whole concept isn't very original...

If anything, they should change his name to Waruigi, considering that 'warui' is the Japanese word for 'bad' anyway. (I think...)

That's what I am thinking, because all of my sources say that a version of Mario Bros. was  never released for the Vs. Unisystem.  Does anyone know when the Vs. Unisystem was unleashed onto the public?  That might help clear this up.

I have no idea (or am too lazy to think about it).

The flagship game is important though, because it kind of sets the pace for other games to follow.  Examples: SMW was an awesome game, and the SNES went on to be one of the best systems of all time.  Mario 64 seemed a bit rough and unfinished, and the N64 has had it's share of sub-par and cookie cutter games.

According to Webster:

'canon- n. 1. rule; model; standard 2. An accepted principle or rule

Also according to Webster, 'canonic', 'canonical' and 'canonicality' are all real words! Yay!

Vs. Mario Bros... I'll see what I can find.
Although, are you sure it wasn't the Playchoice 10 version of Mario Bros.?  That version was only found in retail stores as a 'play before you pay' demo game.

I'm don't plan on leaving anytime soon.  Like Webpro, I have been here from the start and I feel a strong sense of loyalty to TMK.

If there's not anything to talk about, why not come up with interesting topics of your own?

I'm sure that if Squaresoft was making SMRPG 2 that we'd all be amazed at the incredible new-ness and canonicality (?) of the plot.  I am convinced that Square can do just about anything.

I do enjoy some Mario Music.  All of it is good, but some of it is just fantastic.  The best music would have to be from SMRPG and Yoshi's Island.

Naturally, I listen to other music too.  Five Iron Frenzy, Caedmon's Call, and many others...

Mario Chat / Re: Has anyone been here as long as me?
« on: August 15, 2000, 01:05:33 PM »
I have been here awhile, I joined the MB before there were 20 messages in General Mario chat.  Of course, I have been visiting TMK on a regular basis for over 3 years.

I think Yoshi2 (or Yoshi348, or both) have been around awhile, too.
