Yeah, Roy Koopa! Preach it! Hallelujah!

Plus, knowledge about Mario doesn't always make you the bigger fan. You could drive someone who knew everything crazy by saying Mario would dislike them for being such a wanna-be, and that he'd want you to be yourself. Or something.

Yep. Pasta. Does the body good.

How about this: You buy a DVD player and a CD player, and then you don't have to waste money on a PS2? I have a PS2, yep. And it's awful. It has no good games at all! While every one of my GameCube games is fun and entertaining.

I recently took a Mario fanship test, and I scored a rank of "Huge Mario fan- Mario is your religion!".

S-s-s-s-s-s-s-soundtrack!? Wh-a? Where? Where can I get one?

Paper Mario made me cry. The ending was awesome! It was funny! And unlike FFVIII, it didn't take me 3 years! Okay... I haven't beaten FFVIII yet. So sue me!

I think Luigi is about the same from Mansion to Melee. He's serious because there's no ghosts in Melee, and apparently he has some sort of ghost-a-phobia thing goin' on.

Yep.

Mario Chat / Re: Favourite Mario Music

I just figured out where you got that Buzz thing from.

Anyway.

I have numerous Mario favorites. I love Mario's SSB Melee theme. It's kind of a rock and roll remix of the SMB 3 theme. The ending and beginning to Paper Mario, plus a lot of songs in between. It's so hard to choose, you know? I like a lot of Kirby and Link songs, too. My brother, Luigi³, and I, are working on playing the "Tall Tower" theme from Yoshi's Story. Just incase some of you didn't get it, the tiny ³ next to Luigi's name is meant to be "Cubed", in some sort of ravenous celebration of the GameCube. The quote for my signature is on the back of the GameCube box ^_^.

For those of you who have been reading my story in the story board, I'm not gonna continue it today. I'll be working on it tomorrow, though. Stay tuned!

"Just how did you get to Luigi so fast?", asked Kirby, after having finally woken up. The Dreampuff and the Mario Bros. were sitting at the Pipe House's main table again. Mario and Luigi quietly sipped a Super Soda. Kirby slurped up some of his Pep Soda after speaking. Luigi piped up, "I had been wondering that myself. It's quite interesting, really. How did you get to Sarasaland so quickly, Mario?"

Mario smirked smuggly.

"Well, you know how Bowser previously stole the Star Road? The only way I was able to get up to Peach's castle, which was on Bowser's castle, mind you, was by riding in a star-guided chariot, which flies through the air at very high speeds!", said Mario, a little arrogance in his voice.

"Ohhhhhh...", Luigi and Kirby said in unison.

"Now that we've gotten that one out of the way... you said something about the voice speaking to you while you were sleeping in Luigi's bed? Well, what did it say?", asked Mario, intrigued.

"Yoshi!" came a familiar voice from beyond the Pipe House door. Yoshi walked into the Pipe House. - That's right! -, thought Mario. - I invited him over today! I totally forgot about it... -.

Suddenly, it was eerily silent. Kirby seemed fixated on Yoshi, and vica verca. Yoshi curled his upper lip and snarled, "Yoshi...".

Kirby narrowed his dark eyes, his small mouth curving into a frown. "What's the big deal, you two?", asked Luigi, innocently.

"It's...him!", screamed Kirby. "I've been having dreams about him since I was young! You see, I've always been proud of my so called "endless stomach", but in my dreams it portrayed that green dino as the only one who could match me!"

Yoshi seemed astonished. In a few quick snaps of his own name, Yoshi explained to the Mario brothers that the same had been happening to him, too, who then relayed it to the puzzled puffball. "I wouldn't trust that one...", muttered Kirby. "Relax, Kirby. Yoshi's been our friend since we were this big", Mario held his hand about one foot from the ground, "Yep. If it wasn't for him we might not even be alive."

"Doesn't look like they grew too much more...", Kirby said under his breath.

"Enough!", chimed in an unfamiliar voice. The four looked up to spot a funny looking young man, dressed in a green tunic, with light blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He carried a sword and a shield, along with what looked like many other useful items. He stood planted firmly, and said no more, as if he had endured many years of patience and virtue to stand the way he stood.

"I have received a message from the great Deku Tree, through my fairy Navi, that I must seek out the Mario Brothers, Kirby, and Yoshi. He said I'd know where to find you. I've been listening to your conversation, and you four seem to fit the bill.", said Link.

"Link, eh?", said Luigi suavely. "I've heard of you...heh heh."

"Of course you have, Luigi.", Link responded warmly.

"Wha? Huh? How? Luig--Link--wha? No?", Mario stammered, confused.

"Uhm, er, it's a long story, Mario.", Luigi said quickly.

--

Link, Mario, Luigi, Kirby, and Yoshi sat around the table, discussing the recent events that had been occuring in their parts of the Universe. They all seemed to have the same problem; everyone was gone!

"What I don't get...", Yoshi was saying...

(As of now, Yoshi will be translated to stop confusion and/or annoyance. As the Yoshi's have a simple language, Link had already learned his speech pattern. Kirby was fluent in many languages, and the Mario brothers naturally understood Yoshis.)

"Is, why us? I mean, aren't there other people out there who aren't "gone"? I can't think of anyone in my past who'd have the power to pull something like THIS off!", he said, irritation lathering his voice.

"Seems like things had just settled down, too.", Luigi was commenting. "I just now saved Mario from that whole fake mansion deal, and then--wham--this!"

"Maybe it's something that was destined to happen. Maybe someone--or something--has been waiting for a moment of peace, when no one would suspect, to unleash this evil that has occured. Maybe it's just up to us five to stop it.", Link spoke clearly.

"Hmm...", was all Mario had to say...

Kirby seemed deeply in thought...

All was still...

"Whatever it is, it won't do us any good just sitting here.", said Mario.

And so with little argue, they had headed outside, for the first time in what seemed like days, but had only been a few hours.

Mario, Kirby, and Yoshi were already waiting in Toad Town. Luigi was trying to help Link get down the warp pipe, who was having a bit of trouble. Luigi finally got fed up with the Hyrulian Hero and shoved him down the pipe, so that he plopped out in Toad Town, and landed on his head.

Luigi shortly followed, and after a bit of confused mumbling, all five of them were standing prepared in Toad Town square.

Luigi scratched the back of his head. Mario adjusted his hat. Link brushed the hair from his eyes. Kirby began whistling the "Cloudy Park" theme. Yoshi was inspecting something near Merlon's house.

"Hey guys, come check this out!", called Yoshi.

The four ran over to the egg-wielding dino, finding themselved face to face with a six foot chest, padlocked with many different locks. On the right side of the chest were five very strange markings, all in a certain order.

Luigi had his large nose pressed up against one of the markings, "Maybe they're ancient heiroglyphics!", he exclaimed wildly.

"I don't think so.", Kirby answered.

"If not, then what?", answered a certain green-clad plumber.

"This looks like one of the eggs I can make...", said Yoshi, observing the second to last marking on the side of the chest.

"Maybe there's one for each of us.", answered Link, who had previously not spoken. "This looks like a target... maybe it requires an arrow of mine. Look, here--", he placed his hand up to the two first markings, "These look like a bob-omb and a fire flower... and this one here is shaped like a star."

Mario, Luigi, and Kirby stared in wonderment at the strange markings.

"Nothing to do now but test it out! It just so happens that I have a bob-omb right here!", said Mario, pulling the small black explosive from the depths of his overalls, and lifting it towards the indented engraving...

Out of story: Hope everyone likes it so far! I'll be continuing this later or tomorrow! Much more to come!

Thanks Roy, thanks Anonymous Mario Fan. Just so you guys know, this is what I'd like to call an "open story". Anyone who wants to reply and continue it by his or herself is welcome to, as long as you don't mess it up in a horrible frenzy of mispelled words and Mario-being-blown-up repeatedly.

--Back to the story!

Mario winced his eyes as the dust and random debris of the explosion settled. A large, golden star hovered untouched in the air, and standing next to it was a short, round, pink ball with shoes. "Hey! Are you the one that caused all of this!", Mario asked angrily as he waved his hand matter-of-factly at the deserted town. "No way, not me! I'd never do anything like this", the puffball answered. "My name's Kirby. I came to ask you about something that is very important to Dream Land, and probably the rest of Pop Star."

"Oh, you're Kirby, eh? I've heard of you from time to time. From all you've done, I just expected you to be a little..." Mario trailed. "Taller?", Kirby finished for him, swaying from one foot to the left amiably.

"Uhm, uh, yeah...", Mario seemed to have trouble forming his words. "Well, that's why I win a lot. Most people who I fight underestimate me and then--Wham!-- I eat 'em!", Kirby declared happily. "Oh, well, don't worry, I don't need a demonstration.", answered Mario.

-- About an hour later--

"So, what you're telling me is, a voice came to you in your sleep and told you to seek out the Mario Brothers to help return peace to your part of the universe and ours? Sounds like a big deal.", Mario stated, summing up what Kirby had just relayed to him, as he drummed his gloved fingers against the top of the Pipe House's table. "You seem to understand", Kirby answered, with a cold seriousness to his voice. Mario stared at him for a minute, fooling with the edges of his mustache, before answering, "You really do care, huh? I don't have it in me to not help you out. Problem is, Luigi isn't here right now, and if he was, where would we even start off?"

Kirby seemed to be lost in thought. "I know!", declared Mario, standing from the table. "I know a way to get to Sarasaland in a matter of hours! If you would be okay with staying here, that is."

"Whatever it takes.", Kirby answered, the same harsh seriousness cutting an edge to his voice, an edge that could make Bowser turn and run for his life... that same edge that Mario and Luigi carried with them at all times during their adventures that made Koopa Troopas and Goombas hesitant to run towards them.

In a flash of red and blue, Mario was running out the door as fast as his short legs could carry him. Kirby didn't have time to wish him luck, as by the time the thought to do so crossed the Dreampuff's mind, Mario was already leaping from the warp pipe into Toad Town.

--

Luigi enjoyed himself as he munched on a cream-filled pastry that Daisy had made for him, gazing lazily at the sky from his seat on the balcony of Daisy's castle, and thinking, - This must be how Mario got heavier than me... -.

Luigi blinked a few times, snapping out of his hazed mind. He rolled from his chair, "Just a minute now. It's 4:45, and Daisy was supposed to come get me for something at 3:00. Something isn't right here."

Luigi ran through the halls of the castle, which was completely deserted... everyone gone. He trembled in fear of what might have happened as he burst from the front doors of the castle, and right into Mario.

-- Back at the Pipe House --

As the legendary Mario Bros. walked through their own front door, Mario was finishing his sentence, "So Kirby explained to me that a voice in his dream had told him to come to the Mushroom Kingdom and find us, because everyone is missing! This isn't Peach is Missing or Mario is Missing! This is like, entire population is missing!", Mario exclaimed, before stumbling over an overturned chair.

"Mama Mia!", Luigi exclaimed, looking at the array of italian foods and veggies and other food that were all over the ground, tables, shelves, and other furniture, "We've been robbed!"

A soft exhalation of air caught the younger plumbers attention. Kirby was laying on his side in Luigi's bed, an empty pasta bowl still under his left "arm". (Kirby doesn't really have arms... more uh, "stubs", if you will.)

Mario used the overturned chair to hoist himself to his feet, "I guess Kirby got hungry... jeez. I guess we have to wait until he wakes up to continue on. We'd better get some sleep ourselves, we've got a great deal of trouble ahead of us.", Mario yawned.

Mario Chat / Re: How big of a Mario fan are you?

I like to pretend I'm Mario sometimes when I'm at school. I guess my inspiration came from that Mario's High School days fanfic, since I'm in High School. I say mama mia openly. I'm not embarrassed to admit liking Mario or anything, not that I should be. When I had to write a journal entry on an inspirational person in my life, I chose Mario and wrote about him. I usually wear jeans and a red shirt, to be as close to Mario as I can with the clothes I have.

Video Game Chat / Re: The Nintendo 64, was it good or bad?
« on: December 14, 2001, 03:58:51 PM »
I thought the Nintendo 64 was one of the greatest systems ever. Sure, I was still playing SMB 1, 2, and 3 when I first got it, but it was the coolest thing opening it up for Christmas. I opened a red controller first, and my father convinced me that my mother had picked out the wrong one. Then, opening up the Nintendo 64 and seeing a 3-D Mario on the cover made my heart skip a beat!

I obviously enjoyed the Mario portion of the 64, considering I have every Mario-type game for it except Dr. Mario, which I plan on getting sometime.

The 64 revolutionized gaming and Mario for me. I mean, where would I be without it?

I love my GameCube to the bottoms of my shoes! But my 64 will never be put away in some dusty old cardboard box! It will sit proudly on my shelf, while calling my GCN a "whipper snapper", hobbling around on it's cane, and taking lotsa prescription drugs like the elderly system that it is. Heh, heh, heh, uh... yeah.

Ciao,

Super Mario

Mario Chat / Re: Your most Magical Mario Moment (MMM)
« on: August 29, 2001, 08:20:36 AM »
I've had a lot of Magical Mario Moments in my life, but I'd have to say the greatest was also one of the most recent. I rented Paper Mario from the store, and while watching the beggining sequence, I finally felt like I had something in common with the other inhabitants of the Mario universe, which had seemed so far off until then. But it really hit me when the words flashed across the screen, "Now Star Kids rise to Star Haven to deliver the wishes...but they can't be answered, so... ... whatever can they do...?", and I just felt like crying, I was so happy.

Another one, which also has to do with Paper Mario, was when I finally beat Bowser after about seven or eight tries, and having some big controversy with my brother about it... it felt so good, because up to then I'd sucked at RPG's... I still haven't beaten FF8.

Another was when my brother and I first played Super Mario RPG down at my cousin's house, which is a long way off. He'd not gotten anywhere, and we got 5 stars in about 2 days... proving that we were, infact, superb Mario gamers!

Ciao.
