Forum Games / Re: Role Play begins! (everyone in the RPG read)

Mario suddenly heard a knock at the door."I wonder who that could be?" he said aloud as he stood from his chair. He strolled to the two wooden doors of Peach's castle, while humming a lively tune. Mario grabbed one golden door knob, turned and opened it to see his brother Luigi standing before him. "Hey-a Luigi! Come on in and have-a some cake!", Mario said. "Oh, why are you here anyway?", asked Mario as he led Luigi to a chair at the table and sat back down.

OOC: Well...why are you here?

I think when they  touch the Mushroom or Fire Flower that they absorb the ability that that item contains..or something. I also think that SM64 was good but that they could've added more to it-a. They should have-a put those a reverse mushrooms from SMB3 in SSB also-a. Thats just what-s I think though. Oh and, did you say pasta? *mouth waters*

Mario Chat / Super Hi-C Bros.
« on: May 16, 2002, 02:13:30 PM »
Did anyone else see the Nintendo HI-C drinks they're making now? I got a few of them (as many as I could buy) along with the fruit snacks. I'm saving one box from each set of Mario character drinks. They've got Link, Toad, Peach, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Wario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and I think that's it but there may be more. Each has a saying on the back about what the drink does for the character. For example: "Orange Lavaburst puts the bop in Mario'sâ„¢ hop and helps him hurl fireballs at his foes!". It's pretty neat, and I figured if no one knew about it I could post about it. My personal favorite is the Mario drink, so far. Oh, also, seperate drink packages contain collector cards for the characters. Ciao.

I'm at the Smithy fight now, but I'm not sure if I want to beat the game yet. I want to know if anyone knows if it's worth it to go back out of Bowser's Keep to go back and do some of the side-quests (Grate Guy's Casino, Culex, Fireworks, etc.) or if I should just try and beat it.

Fan Creations / Fight me, Bowser!
« on: May 13, 2002, 05:14:46 PM »
Bowser threw his head back, placing his large clawed hands upon his lightly shelled stomach, and laughed ferociously, "Bwahahahahahahaha! You--you actually think you can stop me this time, MARIO!? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!", the Koopa King laughed, standing poised atop a large rock. Mario stared up at him, from his lower platform, both platforms being deep in the darkest, creepiest, Boo-infested part of Bowser's Castle. Lava swirled and mixed around them, bubbling and splashing, burning and causing Mario to sweat profusely. He struggled in his chains, his red hat falling from his head as he pulled against the chains. Mario attempted to answer the Koopa King, through the bandana around his mouth.

"Why are you even trying to get away, Mario!? Now the lava will swallow you, and I'll take over the Mushroom Kingdom once and for all! Ahahahahaha!"

Luigi shook all over, standing poised atop the highest platform, staring down from above. "Mama mia! Bowser's gonna fry-a Mario!", Luigi cried out, terrified, wanting to help his brother but too scared to take the leap. Just then, Luigi flashed back, thinking about what a young Toad had said to him while he was resting at a Toad House... *You have to save Mario, Luigi! You're the only one who can do it! We're all counting on you!*.

Luigi rolled up his green sleeves, biting his upper lip slightly, "If I don't-a make it, I hope the best for the Mushroom Kingdom! Here we go!!", the green-clad plumber shrieked, grabbing ahold of an overhead chain-chomp (which happened to be  holding up a large chandelier), before swinging his way down to plow accidentally into the overjoyed Koopa. Luigi and Bowser rolled haphazardously towards the edge of the platform, skidding to a stop shortly after. Luigi pushed his hand down against the ground, leaping back and off, to jump down to Mario's platform, which was just about to sink into the lava. "I'll-a save you, Mario!", Luigi chimed, skipping down to grab his slightly-heavy brother before leaping up to an adjacent platform.

Luigi quickly untied Mario, freeing him of his restraints. Mario stood up, red-faced an angry with Bowser, brushing himself off. "Mama mia, that one was-a too close!", said the older Mario brother. "Uh, hey, bro... why isn't Bowser-a moving?", asked Luigi, concerned.

"I'm not reall sure bro... you must have-a hit him pretty hard! Wow-ee!", said Mario, rubbing the back of his head. Just then, the ghastly shape of Kamek appeared in the far doorway, "Idiots! You actually thought that was Bowser! King Bowser would NEVER be downed by someone so puny! The real Bowser didn't even bother with you two boneheads this time! He had this rigged so he couldn't just strike one bee, but the whole hive! Hahahaha!"

As Kamek disappeared through the hallway, the platforms all began to shake. A few moments after, the lava began to rise! "Oh no!", shrieked Luigi. "What should we do, Mario? The lava's rising!", he screamed in a panic.

[:::] Is this the end of the Mario brothers? We'll have to wait until the story is continued to see if they make it!!

Mario Chat / Thank you, Deezer.
« on: May 13, 2002, 04:41:09 PM »
Hey, everyone. I've recently been having trouble posting, seeing to the fact that I was banned. According to Deezer, I was banned unfairly, because someone within my ISP range was banned. This was a shock to me, and I thought after finding that my entire WebTv had been banned, I was gone for good. But even though I'm sure my repeated confusing e-mails must have unerved our heroic site hoster, he was always polite with me, and was willing to unban everything to get me back on here. I'm very, very grateful, and I want to give three cheers for Deezer. Thanks a lot, Deezer.

Mario Chat / Japanese SSBM! And just SSBM...
« on: March 13, 2002, 06:45:51 PM »
This is for those of you who are priviledged and lucky enough to own SSBM (like me!), and those who don't yet.

If you go to the "Language" setting (It's in Japanese) in Options, and switch to Japanese, quite a few interesting things occur.

First off, Jigglypuff is now "Purin", Bowser is "Koopa", and instead of the announcer yelling "Melee!", a voice says, "Battle Royal!". You can see your character's name in Katakana. I wrote Mario's name down and registered it for the Tournament mode in Japanese. Also, the fans cheer differently. It sounds more Japanese. Duh.

Anyways, there might be more changes, but I didn't discover them yet.

I would also like to use this thread to discuss the game. My favorite character is Mario, of course. I'd like to know other people's preferences, and why they prefer that character. Information on fighting styles would be cool, too. It might also benefit us all to discuss how many trophies we all have, and give a few tips on how to get secret items and so forth, for those of you who don't know.

Pssst... Dr. Mario's Forward-A-Smash in the air can knock certain people out at a minimum of 60%.

That reminds me... I wouldn't mind giving anyone who wanted it some tips on Dr. Mario's and Mario's differences, and maybe some suggestions on who to use and when...?

Arrivederci!!

Mario Chat / Mario Party 4
« on: March 12, 2002, 03:38:05 PM »
What new additions do you guys think should be made to Mario Party 4? Like, mini games and stuff. I think it'd be nice if they added more characters, too. I'll post my mini-ideas once you guys post some.

Arrivederchi!

Forum Games / A sunny day in the Mushroom Kingdom
« on: December 15, 2001, 10:25:58 AM »
A few yellow rays of sun shone in through the small window of the Mario Bros. Pad. Mario's red cap slipped from his face. "It's morning already? Feels like I just got in bed.", he muttered groggily. He rolled out of bed, climbed down the ladder from the top bunk, and set his feet on the floor. Mario whistled as he dressed himself, helping him to wake up. He pulled on his usual blue overalls, his red shirt and "M" cap, along with his worn out brown shoes. He stepped outside of his house, breathing in the fresh air. "With Luigi gone to visit Daisy in Sarasaland, it gives me more time to myself", he said smuggly.

Mario bounced from shoe to shoe over to the Warp Pipe that rested on the edge of his front yard. The sun shone down onto the edges of the green pipe, causing small sparkles of light to bounce off of the edges.

"Not a cloud in sight!", Mario exclaimed happily, as he jumped down the pipe, headed for Toad Town.

As he leapt from the pipe into Toad Town, the lack of noise hit him as awkward. He adjusted his cap, looking around.

"Where is everyone?", Mario asked himself. The whole area was deserted. The wind blew a broken fright jar across the ground, smashing it against a curb in a dull explosion of glass.

Mario walked over to the Toad Town News Board, attempting to read what it said. It was impossible to make out any words, because someone had ripped it horribly in many places, leaving only shreds of what was before.

Mario stumbled backwards, astonished, and dashed as fast as he could towards Merlon's house, which was easy to find via the spinning roof. He slid to a stop in front of the house...

As the old door creaked open, the sunlight behind the red-clad plumber lit the darkness inside of Merlon's house. The entire place was empty, besides one small piece of parchment which was nailed viciously into the ground...

*To whomever finds this, please act quickly. Toad Town has been-- but then the words were smudged with dirt and torn from what looked like clawing. "There must have been a struggle... mama mia", remarked Mario. He skipped the ripped lines and read on, *The only way to reverse this Universal peril is to combine the po-- and it was cut off again. The bottom half of the note was ripped off, leaving nothing more for Mario to go by.

Mario pocketed the torn note, shaking his head in disbelief, "This is too... weird... to be Bowser's work. Alone, anyways."

Mario walked out of the house, "I'd better call Luigi as soon as I can... maybe I should--", but Mario was cut off by a large explosion as a Star came smashing down into Toad Town Central Square...

Out of story: How does everyone like it so far? I'm gonna make this really long and everything and try to do as well as Roy Koopa did. I really enjoyed your story, Roy. This will be continued later!
