I actually had the strategy pre-planned before even attempting the video. I just had to change it around a bit after looking at the boat and etc. The final result took about 30 tries to get right, but even after watching this video a few times, I could spot out some improvements.

NintendoExpert89 captured the clip, I believe, so ask him, but I doubt he's around. I think he's still on my AIM list, so I'll ask him.

Oh wait, he sent me the clip so I could have a listen myself. I'd have to dig around to find it.

Update as of 10 seconds ago within this post: found it. See if this attachment works.

Did you take down the attachment? I can't seem to find it.

Mario Chat / Super Mario Sunshine - The Caged Shine Sprite in 13.6
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:07:19 PM »
Hey everyone! I know it has been a while since I made a new video, but I was busy in real life and was working a lot on Super Mario Bros. Online, my Mario online RPG (It's on Mario Chat if you want to check it out). Anyway, this video shows me completing The Caged Shine Sprite in Super Mario Sunshine in 13.6 seconds, about 1.3 seconds faster than the current world record (which was claimed by McTwisterDeluxe). I hope you all enjoy it!

Play Time: 13.6 (13 seconds, 60 hundredths of a second)

Mario Chat / Re: SMB3 VS. SMW
« on: February 18, 2010, 11:49:44 PM »
I thought that SMAS SMB3's graphics were much more colorful and interesting than the original's graphics. In the original Super Mario Bros. 3, most of the underground levels had black backgrounds with few decorations on them, but SMAS SMB3's underground backgrounds were much better and had a more natural feel.

Good 8-bit graphics > Bad 16-bit graphics.

While I agree with this statement, I did not think that the 16-bit graphics found in Super Mario All-Stars were bad at all; they made the whole Super Mario Bros. series look like new games. I was, however, disappointed that SMAS changed the physics engine for many of the games.

I've updated the screenshot on the first post, since we've released another update that included quite a few graphical enhancements. Also, the game has changed a lot since that last screenshot.

I actually sent that e-mail a long time ago. I found out that the mysterious cart is one of the first things you see in the alpha trailer. You can actually jump on it and get launched in the air a little. As for that soccer ball and the giant Strollin' Stu, I'm not entirely sure what their purposes were. I speculate that the soccer ball was just some fun little object you can play around with because you see Mario doing just that in the alpha trailer, and I think the giant Strollin' Stu was the original main villain of the game.

Nice mailbag. You guys should try to do them more often.

I got this game on Christmas, and I love it so much! Nintendo did a really good job on combining elements from many Mario games.

Mario Chat / Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story - Null Action Icon Glitch
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:26:08 PM »
Hey everyone! I haven't been on much lately because of college admissions, but I should be done with them soon. Anyway, I found a glitch in Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story that allows you to temporarily null the Body Slam Action Icon. The icon will display a "-" and won't work, but a simple switch of Action Icons will fix it.

How to do:

1. Find a place where you can fall and instantly change screens either with or without having to hold down a direction on the D-Pad, such as the area displayed in the picture. Note that you don't need to be in the Spike Ball form for this to work.
2. Switch to your non-default Action Icons (the Body Slam and the Spike Ball icons).
3. While falling, hold down the L button (also be sure to hold down the direction you need to hold to change screens, if you're in an area that requires you to do so).

4. Wait until you've changed screens and behold! The Action Icon will be labeled with a "-" and actually doesn't work!

Have fun walking around with a null Action Icon!

Here's a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM6RaFwEarc&fmt=18

I know it's not a useful glitch, but it's pretty fun to play around with. I hope you all enjoy the video!

Random fun fact:

The original name for the Hot Drumstick was the Spicy Drumstick. There's evidence in page 32 of the Instruction Booklet. I guess it can also be interpreted as a mistranslation, but who knows?

Right now we're not sure when the Beta will be released, but we have a lot of work to do before the Alpha is finished. Many people requested that I put the installer into a .rar file. RAR files are more compressed than zip files.

Check out the Bugs & Errors list enclosed in the game folder. If you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can download a fix here:

http://www.supermariobrosonline.co.cc/uploads/Windows_Vista_&_7_Fix.rar

Simply run the program and it will install the files needed to get the game working. I look forward to your comments and opinions!

You can already choose 6 characters: Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, and Toad. So far, I've had some success on my first day, having reached 9 players on at once :). There was already one Mario MMORPG called Super Mario Online that was announced on here by a user named "popibros1." Unfortunately, Super Mario Online did not stay true to the Mario series and was abandoned by the creator, although you can still play it. Other than programmed features, my game excels Super Mario Online in about every aspect. I'll put a direct download link on the first post in case you don't want to sign up to view those forums.
