The concept is simple. You create your own kind of plumber, whether a boy or girl, man or woman, human, or , even, Toad, and other species. You then are cast into the world of The Mushroom Kingdom, of which Bowser has been overthrown as the king of Darkness and has been replaced by:
Un-Mario, the complete oppisite of Mario. He creates humanoid robots which are stronger than most Mario enimies, and Mario and Luigi can't fight it alone.
You ahve four choices:
Join the ranks of Mario and Luigi to defeat Un-Mario
Join Un-Mario for Total World Dominance and Defeat The Mario Brothers
Join Bowser To Defeat un-Mario AND The mushroom kingdom to join the leauge of Bad Guys
Join Peach's defense army and defeat the onslaught of humaniods.
The service would be free, and would be the mix of Matrix Online and World of Warcraft. The entire game is gamer-controlled. You can choose what should happen depending on what side you choose and what your sides actions of become. Guild wars and side wars happen daily, and backstabs are normal.
There are many classes:
Super Plumbers: The Mario Lookalikes, which you can wear overalls, t-shirts, etc. Totally customizable.
Humaniods: The Un-mario's army
Koopa and Crooked Humans: Bowser's People
Toads: Peach's forces
The main characters:
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Un-Mario, and Bowser are totally controlled by a admin, and they lsiten to their whole side for what they should do next.
ALso, you can meet special NPC's, such as Donkey Kong, who gives you power bannanas which boost your level, Link, who resides in Hyrule, and you go there using a machine. Also, Samus and Fox are found, which you go there using a rocket ship.
A couple of things I don't like about this idea:
1. Un-Mario? We already have Wario & Shadow Mario, 1 of which we haven't battled since his debut, the other we haven't fought at all. This guy is very unnessasary.
2. Too many humans. I don't like having a lot of human characters in Mario games, it takes away from the uniqueness of the world. Why not an army of mechinized goombas & other Mario enemy types? Majority players are human plumbers & there are humans in
Bowser's forces? Please no, that's not Mario at all!
I think a Mario MMO is a bad idea. Mario is the antithesis to boring level grinds, non-twitch-based combat, and complicated game systems and UI. It wouldn't feel right, and I'm not sure how one could make a successful MMO without this stuff. They're based on time commitment and feeling a sense of accomplishment for what you've done, as well as camaraderie with other people in the game. This style of play would seem very strange in a Mario skin.
Big misconnception there. Just because it's a MMO doesn't mean it's
has to be an RPG. Planetside for example is a MMOFPS, you don't level grind, you just join one army of players & blast the **** out of the other army. Auto Assault is a MMO take on vehicular combat. In theory you could make an MMO out of any genre, so yeah a Mario MMO can in fact work as long as it's not an MMORPG.
My simple ideas:
Mario Wrestling
It better have Captain Lou Albino reprising the role of Mario!
I had a similar idea for a Mario & Luigi 3. The 2nd one had Mario,Luigi,Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, right? Well, the third one would have Wario and Waluigi! Imagine a quartet like that on an epic adventure!
Wario & Waluigi really should've been bosses in the 1st M&L.
Space Madness: this is a game where Prof E. gadd sends mario and the group to the moon for space rocks. but Peach is kidnapped by bowser!! Now the gang must go through 16 levels named after some thing in space. Use attacks like zeroG-jump and acid balls to KO the bad guys. Also use items like lazer swords and jet-packs!But watch out for the Gigglelastic Girls from Georgetown,Guyana, there always girlie-fying your quest! Also watch out if you get hit on the glass dome to much it might break and you will die. ESRB Rating:E10, not alot of violence.
A Mario game set in space? Nope, never gonna happen! No way Nintendo would ever consider such an insane idea! >_> <_<
I'm thinking a Mario game on the gameplay spectrum of Sonic Adventure. The general game would be like SM64, with an overworld and stars to collect, but there'd be multiple playable characters with different gameplay characteristics. There could also be an epic storyline and a few RPG elements sprinkled about. Coolkid posted something like this a page or two back, but his wasn't very well thought out.
Frankly I'm surprised this hasn't already happened, it makes an aweful lot of sense!
