Mario Chat / Re: Is Game Boy dead?

If I were able to get my hands on one, I would definitely buy the micro. After all, the backwards compatibility is the only thing that's missing from it.

I'm sure that 500 million other people have thought of this already, but I think that an adapter should be officially released by Nintendo, which could be inserted into a (for example) Game Boy micro and allow it to play original Game Boy and Game Boy Color games (and possibly even package it with the micro). If that ever happened, I would actually buy a micro. If it's impossible, then asses to me.

I can't predict whether it will "fail" or not, but the Wii seems to be selling well so far. And the only negative comments I've read about it were that anything involving "power" (such as graphics, hard drive space, etc.) were too primitive compared to the XBox 360 and PS3. That does not worry me so much, though. Nevertheless, I just do not want the Wii to end up being an overall disappointment.

In the end, I want a Wii no matter what.

I think they should be fighting each other instead of making peace. That'd be more fun to watch.

I realized that there was a 3 month difference between mine and the last poster's posts. However, I did not revive/bump a "dead" topic, since people can still instill their input into this topic. So, therefore, I don't want an impression given that I am trying to be an annoying member who bumps old "useless" topics.

I know that you felt it was right to point out the date difference, and I don't blame you a single bit, but please just see this my way and let's go on with the topic.

Now to get back on said topic: I was just playing Super Mario Bros. DX on my Game Boy Advance SP earlier today for about an hour and fifteen minutes (I was trying to get the high score "badge" in challenge mode for 8-4, which I finally got after dying 100+ times [my score was 18,500].). My point is, you cannot do that on the DS (as well as the micro for that matter), so therefore the Game Boy line still isn't dead to me.

I know this has already been said, but the SP is the newest Nintendo hand held model that can play all the Game Boy games. The micro only plays GBA games. Therefore, solely for those reasons, I feel that the SP is the best version of the Game Boy thus far and that the micro is useless. However, if the micro played all the Game Boy games, I would favor the micro, BUT I would still hold the SP in high regards.

Video Game Chat / Re: Do you read the manual?
« on: November 12, 2006, 11:47:16 AM »
I always read the manuals for my games, for two main reasons:

1) Most obviously, it provides very useful instructions on how to perform certain actions in the games, supplies various information about the game, etc.

2) As I read the manual, I tend to get more and more anxious to play the game (it's a good feeling).

Good lord, that's strikingly similar to a dream I had!! Except there were no conveyor belts and the wall where the Bowser painting was hanging was all black, like the space between the walls. That, and when I finally reached that painting, I heard Bowser's laughing, which scared the crap out of me.
That's not all! I've also had recurring Super Mario 64 dreams. Recurring Super Mario 64 dreams. In these dreams, there is always this certain room (not in the actual Super Mario 64 game) that looks like a main corridor, except it was built by Bowser (I know this because there are two large paintings of his face that lay on the wall at the other end of the room [and those pictures look similar to the actual ones in Super Mario 64, except Bowser has a different facial expression in these that somehow makes the paintings a lot scarier]). I originally started having those dreams soon after I was given Super Mario 64 for my birthday in mid-1999. The dreams would occur on and off about 6 times (I think) from 1999-2003 (I think), but just this past summer I had another with the same exact corridor. Whenever I enter the room, I feel very afraid because I know Bowser is watching..............(But I still enjoy the dreams very much when I think back to them). I hope to have another very soon. Maybe I'll have another tonight. You never know..................

Hello, my name is Dan. I am 15 years old and I enjoy my share of Mario-themed Nintendo games. Despite the fact that my name is Sonic the Hedgehog-themed, my focus is currently not on Sonic games. This username was created when I was 12 years old (for another forum that I still visit every so often) when I rediscovered Sonic the Hedgehog games via Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and it is so easy to remember that I register as it for almost every forum I attend. Anyway, my favorite game console is the Nintendo 64 (despite purchasing it mid-1999 [the latter half of its "lifetime"]). I am not a fanboy of any sort, but I am still rooting for the Wii in this next generation of gaming.

I hope to post often and will always post logically during my stay at the Fungi Forums. Well, see ya around!

I have had my share of Super Mario 64 dreams over a period of 8 years. The most recent one was from last month:

I (as Mario) was in some sort of a basement room (completely unlike any room in the actual game). In this room, I had to navigate my way through a maze full of glass walls (sort of reminiscent of the mirror in the upstairs room of the castle where you enter Snowman's Land, only I could actually see through the walls somewhat). Anyway, I had to navigate my way to the end, where there was a large picture of Bowser (since I woke up before reaching the end, I assume that I would have been able to jump into the picture [since in most of my other dreams, that was actually possible]). But, there were two twists: One was that the entire maze had conveyor belts as floors (like the ones in Tick Tock Clock, only they were red and yellow), making it difficult to even walk forward, and that Bowser was actually in the maze itself trying to find and flame me to death!

Man, those dreams are some of the best that I have had. I can't wait for my next!
