Mario Chat / Re: Vivian = Male? (Paper Mario)

Um... I could be wrong, but maybe you guys are thinking of this the wrong way?

The Journal and Goombella's tattle both refer to her/him in a questioning way. The journal thing is supposed to be written by Mario, right? That's what I assume at least.

Anyway, Vivian's sisters make fun of her constantly, calling her ugly and other stuff. So couldn't they being calling her a man as a insult to her? Mario and Goombella could have overheard this, and gotten confused about it. (Much like us. XD)

Ha! Nice one Toad.  I forgot that was one of the questions. XD

Agreed, the music was very good in MiM.

But the Warioware series? I don't see the problem. I've loved the Warioware games, you don't like it because Wario doesn't hunt for treasure? I mean, it's your opinion, but come on! That's not much of a reason!

Well, I agree on the Robin thing!

But I'm fine with Peach-napping! It just wouldn't be right without it! But that doesn't mean we need to change Peach's character just to do so. Sure, Peach was clueless in Sunshine, but if her voice actor changed her tone of voice into a different confused one, she wouldn't have been clueless at all even with the exact same line! (Saying "I'm your mama?" as in, "What are you talking about?") And I certainly don't see her as a glutton, rather a giving and kind person.

If you ask me, it really is sad the Miyamoto feels like that... I personally thought that Galaxy hit the sweet spot with it's story. A small story to get the game moving, and then having Rosalina's elaborate backstory.

I don't mind there being less of a story in the platformers (I'd like to have elaborate stories though...) because we do get that in the RPGs, but something as dumb and un-imaginative as Peach getting lured into a trap with cake?! No. Just no.

The Mario series introduced story-lines into video gaming, it shouldn't stop just because the creator doesn't care enough to make a nice story.

Well, I was a bit too slow on my reply, but I agree with CrossEyed7.

Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. It is a option isn't it? So why should we worry about it? We can play the game normally right?

This could be a good thing for all those kids out there playing Mario. I remember when I was about 4-5 there were some levels that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't beat them and had to have my dad beat them. (I can beat them now of course!) This is simply a way to do the same thing, just without bothering your parents. (It used to get me in trouble all the time.)

Yeah, seriously, it's been forever since riding Yoshi was really fun. Or since Yoshi has been given any respect at all really. The last game I enjoyed Yoshi in was TTYD. (Or if you want to count it, Mario Kart Wii)

Woo! Looks like it's going to be a good year for us Mario fans!

Let's see...  Well, I loved the first NSMB, and this one looks ten times better! Two new suits, a ride-able Yoshi, and the koopalings! And of course the multi-player! (I honestly think that the Toads are just there to keep from revealing any other characters...)

SMG2 Once again, a ride-able Yoshi! This is really Yoshi's year, isn't it? Adding that on top of the new levels and the already great controls makes this game another must-have!

MvsDK: Minis March Again! This one I have mixed feelings about... I liked the second one OK, but I really preferred the first one's DK98 style better... And besides, I don't have a DSi.

M&L: BIS is a Mario and Luigi game, I know it's going to be a blast and absolutely hilarious!

And for WW:DIY I already know it's good. I've played Made In Ore and it was really fun making my own music. I would have tried to make my own games, but I can't read Japanese, so I couldn't figure it out...

I can't wait until these games come out!

Mario Chat / Re: Which Mario is Best?

How in the world did I never the differences between the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario's sprites?

Anyways, I'm going say I like Galaxy's Mario the best. For the same reasons many others have already said.

But in the 2D games I'm going to say Super Mario 3 had my favorite. I loved that sprite...

I've always believed that Mario ate the super mushrooms to increase muscle mass and he ate the fire flowers as well. But the super leaf he put on his head, similar to tanookies (Sp?) in legends. I read somewhere that a tanookie put a leaf on it's head to transform, and if someone else put the leaf on their head, they would transform into the last thing the tanookie transformed into with that leaf.

Also, didn't one of the recent rpgs mention that Mario ate the fire flowers? I can't remember very well....

Hello fellow Mario fans! Well, I'm new here! So I'd like to introduce myself. This is really my first time I've ever joined a forum, so I don't know much of what I can do on here, but I'm glad to be here!
