Mario Chat / Collecting Super Mario
« on: April 09, 2010, 07:10:46 PM »
Of course, everybody here plays the Super Mario video games. But, what about snatching all of the merchandise you can find on the characters? I'm only 14 but have a nice, small collection of goodies. Here's what I've got...

*About three unopened Mario figurines, recent models nothing old or rare
*Sealed Mario Galaxy trading cards, and some opened
*Mario Kart Wii trading cards, unopened/sealed with a collector's box
*Burger King sealed Mario Kart toys
*Super Mario Bros. Super Show Box Set
*The Adventures Of SMB3- King Koopa Katastrophe DVD
*Nintendo 64 Luigi plushie (Still has tag! :D)
*Early Yoshi Plushie (Seems inspired from the Super Mario World sprite)
*Wario plushie
*Donkey Kong plushie
*Two classic Mario Brothers piggybanks
*Mario/Zelda classic bedsheets
*Wristbands
*Two Nintendo Comics Systems SMB comic books
*Wrist bands
*Not to mention countless games-including all 3 for NES, SMW, SML 1 2 and 3, Donkey Kong (GB) and much more!

Mario Chat / Re: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong

Personally, I think the predecessor:Donkey Kong for the original GameBoy was the best. The animations shown at the end of each round are much more charming, and represent unique tricks for you to master. It's also much more difficult, and the puzzles actually make you think throughout. Mario Vs Donkey Kong games just feel cheap- not true sequels to such a fantastic game. The puzzles are not much more than jump on a button to turn on different platforms or ladders. In Donkey Kong, you need to really think about each situation and the outcome of it to get by.

I have it in my SNES collection- it is a fantastic game. The cartoonish art direction and excellent CD quality soundtrack really bring it to life. It is also incredibly difficult when set on Normal mode, mainly due to its length and the Flea Pit levels.

I'm going to have to go with Super Mario Brothers 3 on this one. It brought forth so many elements that are now recurring in the Mario games- such as silly suits, the map screen and mushroom domes. It was also a lot more difficult to conquer, unless you had many a P-wing in stock or a Kuribo's cloud.
