An unfinished Mario game for the Phillips CD-i.  It seemed to try to imitate the SMW gameplay
I didn't even know of its existence until I found some footage of it on YouTube.  I'm glad this game was never released.

Fan Creations / Super Mario Future

All fanfics need to start with a disclaimer: I do not own the Mario series.  I own Tashio, Louisa, and the Shroom Sword, though

First off, let's see how Mario's been doing.

The Mushroom Kingdom's hero, still in his trademark hat, (which has become a little ragged over the years) overalls, and mustache, was walking along the corridors of Peach's castle, when Toadsworth, who now looks like a mushroom version of a medieval wizard, hobbles toward the plumber on his knobby cane.

"King Mario," the old toad said.

AN: What, did I say plumber? I wanted to say king, but decided that Toadsworth should announce that to you good readers. I should probably also mention that Mario's hat now has the image of a crown sewn above the 'M'.

"The prince has found an amazing discovery under the moat's bridge! He's waiting in the throne room with the queen."

AN: Yes, the moat hasn't been refilled since Super Mario 64 (which I do own a copy of).

"Mama-Mia!" Mario exclaimed. He rushed toward the throne room, but he realized that he can't leave old Toadsworth behind. Well he could, but he didn't have the heart. He was also anxious to know what his son found. The suspense was eating him, so...

"Your Majesty," squealed the toad as he was hoisted onto Mario's shoulder. "What in mushroom blazes-"
"You wanna get there quickly or not?" the overexcited king asked.

Mario, ran through the corridors, while holding on to the little mushroom man, when a young kid wearing a blue hat with a 'P' inscribed above the bill jumped in front of the king with FLUDD on strapped around his waist. Mario screeched to a halt.  Toadsworth almost flings off.  The old mushroom adviser held his head, which had stars circulating it, with one small arm, and he groaned, "Why haven't I retired yet?"

"Dad!" exclaimed the boy. "Toadsworth!  You gotta see what I found!  Mom's waiting anxiously in the throne room. And you know how she is when she gets impatient."
"Yes, Prince Pistachio," said Toadsworth.  "Your father and I are on our way."

"Why are you wearing FLUDD, Tashio?" asked Mario.
"I thought we could play FLUDD tag afterwards," the prince replied.
"I think that can be arranged," said Mario patting Tashio's head.

In the throne room,

"Well," Tashio announced upon clearing his throat, "I found this," he held out a sword with a red mushroom on its hilt, "in a hole blasted underneath the moat's bridge."  The sword shimmered brightly, reflecting the light from the room.
"Be careful with that thing, son," gasped Peach.

Toadsworth jumped with excitement almost knocking his glasses off.  "My goodness, boy, could it be? Prince Pistachio, will you allow me to examine that blade?"
"Sure thing, Toadsworth." Tashio laid the sword in front of the old Toad.

Mario sat dumbstruck and speechless, his mouth gapped open.

"The myths are indeed true!" Toadsworth suddenly shouted.  "This is the most amazing, fantastic, fantabulous, outstanding-"
"GET ON WITH IT!" the royal family yelled simultaneously.
"Yes, sorry, my excitement got the best of me. This is the legendary Shroom Sword. It has been said to have the power to repel all evil that enters the Mushroom Kingdom."
"Wait a moment, Toadsworth," said Mario.  "There was blade hidden within the Mushroom Kingdom that Luigi and I could have used to defeat Bowser once and for all, and you never told me about it?"
"Well, I didn't believe it actually existed," said Toadsworth.  "There no point in sending you on a wild goose chase when Peach needed to be rescued." Toadsworth handed the sword back to Tashio.  "Keep the sword safe, young prince, you may follow in you father's and uncle's footsteps as a hero of the Mushroom Kingdom.
"But Toadsworth," said Tashio, "where am I going to learn sword play?"
"Don't worry about that, son," said Mario.  "Your mother and I know a very talented swordsman in another land."

"You mean," asked Peach, "The Hero of Time?"
"Yup,"

Peach sighed and fainted.  Her husband caught her in his arms.  Mario and Toadsworth rolled their eyes.
"My word," Toadsworth sighed, "Women always do that at the mention of Link."

Peach finally regained consciousness.  Her head rested on Mario's lap.  "Mario? I'm sorry, I couldn't control myself."
"Peach, Peach," Mario smiled.  "Don't worry about it. I've yet to see a girl who could control herself from the mention of him."
"Who?" Peach squeaked.
"That'll do, my queen," said Mario stroking Peach’s golden locks.  "That'll do."

The Mario/Peach fans awed.

Well, there you had a look at Mario, Peach, and Toadsworth's future. Next time, we shall take a look at Luigi's.

Fan Creations / Food to Fungi
« on: February 20, 2007, 09:32:05 PM »
EDIT: I've found a name for this story.  If the title doesn't make sense, it's because it was the only catchy alliteration that I could find appropriate for this story.  Lack of feedback can really kill a story.  I had nearly forgotten this.  Because Area 64 asked what happened to this story, I'll try to revive it.

Once upon a time, there lived a peach and a pizza in the Refrigerator Kingdom.  The peach and pizza loved each other very much.  The peach was always getting kidnapped by a jar of pickled herring.  The pizza would throw his spicy, hot pepperoni at the fiendish herring and get his beloved fruit back for his rich, brown crust to wrap around.  On the night before their expiration dates, the three foods made a simple wish: to live longer lives; to become animate creatures.

The next morning, the pizza woke up to a new environment.  His beloved peach wasn't by his side.  He jumped--wait!  He jumped! (so high that his head hit the ceiling)  Pizzas don't jump!  In fact, he felt limbs that pizzas don't have.  He had appendages!  He hopped out of his bed (an actual bed, not a pizza box!), and walked, surprisingly well, to a nearby mirror.  The pizza was shocked at what he saw: rich, uncombed, curly brown hair, a full, bushy, black mustache, two sparkling, blue eyes, two round ears, a mouth, human skin tone, and a button round nose!  He couldn't call himself a pizza anymore.  A meatball, perhaps, since he found that had he had a belly round as one, but no, he was human!  What should he call himself?  On his bed stand he noticed a red hat with a 'M' etched above the bill.  He put the hat on, and chimed "It's-a me, Mario!"
But what about my darling peach, Mario thought.  Was her wish granted?  Before he could think anymore of the matter, a slightly taller, thinner human in green clothing walked into our hero's room.  "Are you just gonna stare at your reflection all morning and let your breakfast go cold?  That's not like the brother I know."
Brother?  The red hero stared at this new person.  The human shared a deep resemblance to our hero.  His hat had a 'L' etched above the bill, his mustache was shaped slightly differently, and his disposition was a little more lanky, but Mario could tell that this was his...
"Little Brother!" Mario embraced his brother.  "I thought the people ate you up!"
"What are you talking about, Mario?" the taller human shoved his older brother off.  "Get your coffee in before you speak any more nonsense!  I swear, you're always delirious when you're hungry!"
Mario felt his abdomen area rumble.  Was that the hunger sensation?  The thought of eating food, at first, felt cannibalistic to our hero, but he realized that humans needed food in order to survive.  He was no longer a pizza.  Was his wish actually granted or was this the foods' afterlife?

To be continued

EDIT2: connected the first two chapters into one chapter.

Video Game Chat / Something awesome just happened...
« on: November 12, 2006, 03:14:40 PM »
...today while I was playing SSB.  I was playing as Jigglypuff in Saffron City, and when I did Jigglypuff's downward smash right next to a crate, Jigglypuff, Link, and Pikachu got stuck.  Jiggly kept attacking with the same smash move, and Link and Pikachu kept taking damage!   They got all the way to 999% damage!  Jiggly's attack kept on mercilessly, and the music was playing a little wierdly until Luigi performed one of his smash moves, flinging Link and Pikachu out of the arena!  After that, the match went on normally.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I also unlocked the SSB Sound Test today.

General Chat / Good TV show ideas gone bad
« on: October 25, 2006, 03:34:20 PM »
Do you know of any TV shows that had a good idea, but just didn't live up to your expectation?
The idea for American Dragon: Jake Long was great, but I don't really care for direction it took.  I dunno, I was expecting something different.  Not even the presence of mythical creatures and the concept of people being able to turn into dragons could turn me on.

Now if I were to make a cartoon about a person being able to morph into a dragon, I would've placed the setting in medeival times.  The main character would be on the run from knights, and his/her best friends would be a fairy and a forest elf, who would travel with him.  Oh, and it'd be drawn out anime.

General Chat / Do you snore or talk in your sleep?

As far as I know, I don't snore, but one day, in Psychology, we spent the period getting a load off ourselves and going into our innerselves.  I didn't fall fast asleep, but I was muttering things.  What about you?

Video Game Chat / One of those moments
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:15:56 PM »
Ever had one of those moments where you feel as if the game knows you?

Earlier today, when I was playing Pikmin 2, the Pikmin obtained an old Squirt bottle cap.  The pod called the treasure 'Happiness Emblem'.  It was funny in a scarry way because Squirt makes me happy.  Also, the game kind of reminds me of my childhood days when I'd explore the grove behind the house.

Fan Creations / Super Mario Poetry
« on: June 12, 2006, 05:32:05 PM »
A few poems inspired from the Mario series that I wrote during school.

"SMW Haiku"
A dinosaur will
Let a plumber ride on him
Once freed from the egg.

"M&L:PiT Haiku"
We travel through time
To the past, which was attacked
By the Shroob menace.

Stanza XIII from "Thirteen Ways of looking at a Cube"
Thwomp, thwomp as fast as you can.
You'll never squish the great Jumpman.
Those cubic creeps with angry eyes
Will never see their master rise.

"Mushroom Colors"
Her eyes glow the brightest blue.
Her golden locks sway on cue.
Her dress pinker than the morning sky.
My passion redder than the hat of mine.
Her peril blacker than my bushy 'stache.
I will jump the green lands of coins of cash
To assure her peachy safety.

"What is a Brother?"
He stays by my side
All through thick and thin.
Standing up for me
During times so grim.
I offer my bro
My deepest support.
Though, I'm tall and green,
And he's red and short.
Nonetheless, though,
We are twin brothers.
And the best of friends.

"A Plumber Remembers"
I remember a dark and stormy night.
I was sleeping like a baby without fright.
Until a deafining crack and rumble
Shook the room with a blinding flash.

I remember jumping awake
Shrieking over the pitter patter of rain.
I felt I'd cry myself a lake.
My efforts to fall asleep were in vain.

I remember a hand resting on my shivering shoulder.
I heard my brother's exhausted, yet comforting voice.
I saw his short silouette nestle under my green covers.
I rested my head near his red bosom.

I remember falling into a peaceful slumber
Never letting go of my sheltering brother.

Mario Chat / The Yoshi
« on: June 12, 2006, 12:46:55 PM »
What do you normally name the Yoshi on PM:TTYD?  I got the blue on my first try, and named it Blushi, though I considered naming it Boshi.  If I get a red one in another file, I'll definitely name it Strong Bad or Lil' Gonzales (lol)
White: Whitey (after my siamese cat)
Black: Raistlin (after the mage)

Game Help / Blue Yoshi
« on: June 07, 2006, 08:51:52 PM »
I read over at Bird Person's website of a trick to get the Yoshi color you want, but I'm still a bit unclear of the table to determine how long I have to wait.  I want the Blue Yoshi, and name it after the Mushroom Mage's Yoshi friend, Blushi.  How many minutes should I wait before running from the cleft battle? 9 minutes?  If I'm wrong, could someone please correct me and explain to me how the chart works?
