Yeah, World would've definitely been better than giving it a title that rhymes with the other game in the series coming out around the same time.

Apparently they're the other way now.

Also, I love how everyone's complaining about the news that using a second Upad will cut the framerate from 60 fps to 30. Like, dudes, seriously. The only way for two Upads to not use more processing power than one Upad would be if the Upads had their own CPU and GPU, which would make them cost about as much as an actual handheld. And if they made the console powerful enough to stream to two Upads at 60fps, they'd ask why it doesn't jump up to 120fps with one. And if they didn't let it use two Upads at all, they'd complain about that.

For Gold members only!

Coming in autumn!

Woo hoo!

They're from other people playing the game. Some games will have Miiverse features like that directly integrated into the game; with the ones that aren't, you can still access the Miiverse at any time with the Home button to talk to people through text or video chat, with PC and mobile integration within a few months of launch. Like this hipster.

The GamePad sticks were ultra-confirmed to be clickable in the Direct video (visually, verbally, and aurally), so it's probably safe to assume the Pro ones are too. No word on trigger analogicity yet.

I'm sure I'll still find things to complain about (like how the level still ends with a flag), but this looks really nice.

22:32: "OK, being a flying squirrel is WAY more fun than it should be!"
"A baby Yoshi that balloons up to carry you? Too cute!"

I like how Iwata says "tekist."

First actual screenshot!

Looks like they might actually make it look different!

(New Super Mario Bros. U is  an official name, by the way)

Also this.

I like how every console has the sticks in different places now.

EDIT: After registering my games en masse, I'm up to 1020 Coins with Platinum status. Does that qualify me for the Mario badge set, or for the next reward? Is there a certain time at which new prizes are announced? If so, I might hold on to my Coins.
Elite status is based on the number of coins you earn in the year, whether you spend them or not, if that's what you're worried about.

I was afraid I wasn't going to make Platinum this year, but turns out I'd forgotten to register Diddy Kong Racing, Personal Trainer: Cooking, and HeartGold back when I got them, so between those coins, those surveys, and a couple surveys I still had kicking around, I'll just make it, without even having to buy all the DSiWare clocks at the last minute.

(I also forgot to register Meteos and Mario Hoops, but those don't count apparently. And the games I have that I forgot to register that would count (Mario Kart DS and Yoshi's Island DS), I don't know what I did with the codes from them. And I also lost the codes for Partners in Time and Super Princess Peach, which also wouldn't count, even though Super Princess Peach is in this picture on the site and should totally count.)

Mario Chat / Re: Yoshi, the gender bender

Asexuality and aromanticism are not necessarily mutually inclusive. It is possible for romance to be separate from sex. Yoshi and Birdo may well be in a relationship even if they don't have a method and/or desire to have sex (again, assuming that sex exists in the Mushroom World in a form somehow resembling our own -- off the top of my head, I can't think of any concrete evidence in any Mario canon pointing in that direction, and Yoshi's Island, while not necessarily disproving it, certainly doesn't help).

One thing that should be added, which would clear up a lot of confusion about science: A hypothesis is saying "I think there's a dot over here." Once you've performed experiments to see whether or not there were dots at the places you thought there'd be dots, a theory is an attempt to model what's behind the dots. A lot of people (including me, until a few years ago) are under the impression that Hypothesis : Theory :: Pikachu : Raichu.
