What happens if you water Fire Flowers?

It's just like watering any other flower!

The Fire Flower once used, it creates flame...
But the Fire Flower is not the flame itself!!!
Besides, do you really think that the Fire Flower just produce seeds and grow without water? Why, how come the water in the soil does not kill the Fire Flower!?

Fire flowers do not grow in soil.  They grow in question blocks and other such non-water-absorbant habitats.

But, if we are to assume that, like most flowering plants, fire flowers are photosynthetic, then they clearly need water from somewhere.

Then again, the flora of the Mushroom Kingdom is somewhat unusual...most of the plants are carnivorous...

So, to answer the main question...I have no clue.
