This is something I just recently realised...

You know, whenever we go do some fanart or fanfic (or maybe even watch the cartoons and see that thing done) and it’s based on the same old Super Mario concept of him rescuing the princess and all, people always tend to make Bowser put Peach under some sort of thing to keep her in one place, like cages, chains, etc.

However, in the games themselves, not even once have I ever seen the princess inside a room with at least metal bars at any window!!

I should say that’s so weird for Bowser to keep the princess in such escapable places placed with only guards at the front door (this part is based on Paper Mario.)

What do you guys think?

Princess Peach (Toadstool back then) was held captive in a cage in the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) In Super Mario 64, she was imprisoned inside her window, Bowser locked her in his Koopa Clown Car in Super Mario World. As for Paper Mario, she wasn't held captive in a dungeon or anything because it was her castle, not Bowser's. However, she was locked in her room, and they were floating in the sky, so there was really no escape. (Except for that secret door she had in her room, but Bowser didn't know about that) Also, "just guards?" What else is he gonna do to guard the room? Guards guard stuff, that's why they're called "Guards." As for Super Mario Bros. 3, that's really the only one where she was held unguarded in a non-prison-like spot, but when you think about it, Bowser was kinda guarding her since the only way into her room was through his battle room.

I really hated the K.K.K.K. (Koopa Klown Kar Koncept) Yes, I spelt them with K's on purpose. The words Bowser and Clown (Or Klown) don't go together.

Meowrik hit the nail on the head perfectly.

What color should MegaByte''s power light be on his GCN, BESIDES RED?

Hey, Meowrik!!

First of all, in Super Mario World, I don't Peach was always captive in Bowser's vehicle, I believe it's just like what happened in Paper Mario: Peach was captive elsewhere, and then Bowser picked her up for his final battle with Mario...

Secondly, I remember in Super Mario 64 that when Mario reached the castle after the final battle, he looked up and saw the Power Star he picked fom Bowser, and that Power Star sorta 'transformed' into Peach. Just because Nintendo decided to make the event happen in front of the 'Peach Glass Window', does not mean that she actually came out of that window!

Thirdly, in Paper Mario itself, although Peach was stuck in her room, however, some of the people from the party who couldn't manage to escape where thrown into the dungeons in Bowser's castle, which was right under Peach's!

Fourth, in Super Mario Bro.s, I do not recall that Peach was in a cage (or was under chains even)...

What'dya think of dat?

And why would bowser suddenly put peach in his clown car to battle mario, he can't have wanted peach there only for his battle.
Let me away from this boulder!

Hey, Hope(N forever)!!

"First of all, in Super Mario World, I don't Peach was always captive in Bowser's vehicle..." What do you mean by: "I don't Peach was always captive..." <--- Doesn't make sense.

"...I believe it's just like what happened in Paper Mario: Peach was captive elsewhere, and then Bowser picked her up for his final battle with Mario..."

Peach was held captive in her room. Like Meowrik said, they were floating, so unless she wanted to just do a nosedive off the castle and end it then and there, it was impossible to get out.

"Secondly, I remember in Super Mario 64 that when Mario reached the castle after the final battle, he looked up and saw the Power Star he picked fom Bowser, and that Power Star sorta 'transformed' into Peach. Just because Nintendo decided to make the event happen in front of the 'Peach Glass Window', does not mean that she actually came out of that window!"

Where does it start from, huh? Judging from how close it was to the window, it seems to have come out of it. If you look at the angles and the way it's coming from and going, you can clearly see that it's coming from the window.

"Thirdly, in Paper Mario itself, although Peach was stuck in her room, however, some of the people from the party who couldn't manage to escape where thrown into the dungeons in Bowser's castle, which was right under Peach's!"

And? Thanks for stating the obvious and clearing up the "Where did the guests go" mystery.

"Fourth, in Super Mario Bro.s, I do not recall that Peach was in a cage (or was under chains even)..."

Like Chupperson said, we're talking about the SMAS SMB. Plus, in the original, where would she have gone? There were walls all around her. She couldn't just stroll out (or even through with the 'glitchiness') of the castle.

"What'dya think of dat?"

I don't think, I know.

Once more time!

-Trainman, I don’t think you have played Super Mario 64 for a while...

-In Paper Mario, let’s assume the princess decided to jump off the castle. But before she does, who fell off the castle in the beginning of the game? Mario, of course! Did he die when he landed? No! Why? Another event explained this: remember when Mario wanted to ask Goompa for the hammer? Well, when Mario reached the veranda where Goompa was fixing things from the earthquake, Mario opened the door right into thin air! Mario fell again, but this time we saw how he landed, like a piece of paper! And it is not the last time Mario or anyone else fall such tremendous heights! So the princess could have jumped off the castle being in Paper Mario!

-About Super Mario Bro.s, I was just assuming if Nintendo didn’t make any remakes...

Can’t you see what I’m saying here? I’m saying Bowser is putting it easy on the princess for some reason, I didn’t say Bowser wants the princess to escape. Why in Paper Mario had Bowser just kept the princess in her room instead of throwing her into a certain cell like the guests which were also at the castle?

I mean, Bowser put the princess in ropes during the final battle in Paper Mario only just to taunt Mario...

The "falling paper" is a stylistic efect, done to further the style of the game.  It is no more real than the houses folding open when you go inside.  Mario is a hardy fellow, which is why he was able to survive the fall.  An yet, even then, the star spirits used their powers to help him, and he was still unconscious for days.

Bowser has feelings for Peach; this is evident throuhgout the game.  Hence, he doesn't want her to be treated like an ordinary prisoner.  She was tied up in ropes after her last escape attempt.

Yes, and in paper mario they were not a full height when mario fell out, they continued to rise into the sky after mario left so peach nor mario could have survived then.
