Doki Doki Panic and Yoshi's Story: Just a coink-a-dink?

I was reading the article on this site about Doki Doki Panic and SMB2(USA)
and I reliezed something: the story in DDP is that 2 kids are sucked into a
book.  SMB2USA was the first Mario game to feature the Shyguys.  Then, years
later, in Yoshi's Story, Yoshi and his friends are sucked into a book and
the game contains... you guessed it, SHYGUYS!!!  Is that just an odd
coincidence, or did Nintendo do that dileberatly?

Well, technicaly, Baby Bowser turned the world into a story book, and the avergae Joe dosn't have a clue what Dokki Dokki Panic is. They're two completly different worlds, my freind.
